About Smart Physio and Injury Rehabilitation

Smart Physiotherapy and Injury Rehabilitation aims to offer the best in physiotherapy and injury rehabilitation using the most up to date specialized treatment to asses, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate a person from injury back to full health.Our Chartered Physiotherapists and Sport rehabilitation therapists will provide specialist treatment with problems involving the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems in all injury's in the sporting and non-sporting populations. Our Clinic is located in Smart Training Dublin, in Churchtown Business Park, just outside Churchtown Village with wheelchair asses and ample parking.

At our clinic, we have full use of all gym and rehabilitation equipment for all our cliental which will meet any and all of your needs. We believe that we can deliver the highest level of patient injury management, injury prevention and functional strength & conditioning that will aid  you step by step through your injury in the most friendly and relaxed manner possible . In addition, we have access to personal training provided by Mr Johnny Bruton and his staff in Smart Training.

Biography:

Gavin Egan, BSc (Hons) GSR, BASart, ITEC, Sports Rehabilitator and Athletic Trainer

 

Gavin is a graduate of IT Carlow Honors degree in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy and also has a degree in Physiology and Health Science. After completing his qualification he gained experience in the care of Sports & Spinal Injuries working in Tallaght Physiotherapy Clinic. He has worked previously at inter-county level, looking after the Kildare Junior Football team under Tony Kelly in 2011 & 2012( All Ireland Runners Up 2011), he will be returning to this post in the Kildare set up in January 2015 which he gave up due to study commitments.

In addition Gavin has worked extensively with Carlow Fitzgibbon and Fresher Hurling teams in (2013-2014) under Michael Dempsey and DJ Carey, helping the Fresher to All Ireland League and championship titles (2013, 2014).

Gavin has also completed an Athletic Training Internship in Saint Joesphs University, Philadelphia USA where he looked after the needs of men and women’s soccer and ladies field hockey for the 2013 academic calendar. He has also worked for many club teams such as Ballybodan St Endas GAA, St Margearts GAA, Maynooth GAA,Leister Celtic FC, Seapoint Rugby and Sundays well rugby.


Gavin also is employed in NUI Maynooth presently looking after their GAA department and teams with match and training cover.

Since finishing his degrees Gavin has completed courses in dry needing and spinal manipulations.

Miss Ciara Farrell

Ciara Farrell Chartered Physiotherapist, B. Sc , MISCP , MCPSEM,

Ciara is an honors graduate of the School of Physiotherapy in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Having completed her degree, Ciara has gained extensive experience in the assessment, management and rehabilitation of people with Spinal and Musculoskeletal injuries, including those that are work and/or sports related.

Ciara acts as the lead Physiotherapist providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of players and members of Leicester Celtic Football Club, in Rathfarnham. In addition, Ciara worked alongside Ballyboden St Endas, Wesley Rugby Club and Wicklow Seniors GAA.

 

Ciara has completed courses in Dry Needling, Sports Traumatology with the IRFU, Sports First Aid with Safety Ireland, and Mobilisation with Movement allowing her to offer a broader scope of treatment for you.
