I have never visited this surgery before and its very busy so very happy I went early as the receptionist desk was having problems. When directed to go through glass doors please be aware they are not full glass doors but small glass panels. But overall good impression and treatment room is very private.

After the first 3-4 sessions I felt so much better and been symptom-free hereafterIan, UK, 20 08 20

I have had a course of acupuncture with Laura for CFS, having had numerous investigations and treatments over the last 3-4 years. After the first 3-4 sessions I felt so much better and been symptom-free hereafter. Laura is very personable and explained the procedure well. The holistic approach has also helped other issues and I would certainly recommend her and the clinic.

I have literally been fixed head to toeRosie, UK, 05 02 20

I am a complete Osteopathy convert, I was recommended Solihull Osteopathic Practice about a year ago but as I lead an active lifestyle and I'm a regular gym-goer, I didn't think it would be of benefit and the pains I suffered I had pretty much accepted as what I had to deal with. On arrival, you are greeted by the lovely receptionists I have met Donna and Fiona both of which made me feel at ease straight away and also Monty is adorable! You feel relaxed very quickly. Well, after visiting now for 4 treatment sessions I have a new respect and understanding for my body and how it works. I see Jeremy who is extremely skilled at pinpointing what I would term "pain epicentres" managing to understand my rambled attempts at explanations of where I feel the pain is coming from, then he is able through palpation, to find the exact trigger point. After living with knee pain since childhood, to finally understand where the pain is actually coming from ( Jeremy explained a misformation of my hip) this was clarity for the first time in my life regarding this issue, of which doctors had previously misdiagnosed. Tantamount to this I've received treatment by way of deep massage and manipulation for TMJ disorder and ongoing neck pain, as well as, calf and ankle treatment down to my toes! Ask plenty of questions when you visit you get many answers as to how your individual anatomy works and advice on the effects of stress, emotions, sleep patterns and even how the way we breathe effects our daily life! Treatment and instruction on at home daily exercises and breathing techniques have improved my overall health tremendously, I have recommended many friends and family to Solihull Osteopathic Practice of which many have booked appointments for their complaints, I would recommend them to anyone. I have literally been fixed head to toe!

Osteopath Consultation
Your initial consultation will take around 50 minutes. Before your actual osteopathic treatment commences you will be asked some questions about yourself and your general health (both past & present), medical history including operations and illnesses, and any medications you are taking. It is important that your osteopath can see and feel not only the area causing your problems, but also other areas of your body that may be related to your condition. Therefore, you will probably be asked to undress down to your underwear for examination and treatment. Please feel free to wear loose fitting shorts and a vest top if you will be more comfortable. During the clinical examination you will be asked to perform certain simple movements so your osteopath can observe the effects of your condition. Further examination, such as blood pressure, reflexes, joint mobility and muscle strength may also be conducted. The experienced osteopath will then use a highly developed sense of touch, called palpation, to identify any points of weakness or excessive strain throughout the body. Your osteopath will make a diagnosis which will be discussed with you, and then treatment is given, if appropriate.

What is Osteopathy? Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together’ Osteopaths use various techniques, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring. How can Osteopathy help you? An Osteopath’s main tool is their hands, used to identify abnormalities in the structure and function of a body, and to assess areas of weakness, tenderness, restriction or strain. By physical examination and assessing the movement and functioning of the body, your osteopath can diagnose and discuss with you the most appropriate treatment plan, estimating the likely number of sessions needed to treat your condition effectively. By using Osteopathic techniques as a form of treatment it can work with your body’s ability to heal itself and help to restore the natural equilibrium. Treatment can range from relaxing and releasing muscle tension and stretching tight muscle tissue. Gentle massage and rhythmic movements applied to restricted joints in the spine
