About Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual therapy used to help treat
musculoskeletal conditions such as:
lower back pain upper back pain neck pain sport injuries hip, knee and foot pain shoulder problems pregnancy related musculoskeletal pain.
It involves hands-on
therapy and home exercises to improve function, mobility and alleviate pain. rather than medical drugs. Osteopaths look at
the body as one functioning unit and promote self- healing for optimum
function. Osteopaths have 4 years of
extensive training in anatomy, physiology and pathology and are allowed to make
a diagnosis.
What to expect on your first visit: A full medical case
history is taken of symptoms, history, diet and lifestyle. An examination
process of the body is taken next, this involves going through simple movement
to make a diagnosis followed by treatment.
