The benefits of sports and remedial massage can be enjoyed by anyone suffering from muscle soreness, muscle aches, pains and injury, and or muscle and joint movement restriction as a result of recreational or occupational activity. Sports massage can promote relaxation of muscles to improve range of motion, flexibility of joints and healing of muscle tissue. Treatment can improve recovery time especially from DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) by helping to eliminate metabolic waste pooling into the lymphatic system. It decreases muscle tension and helps relax muscle spasms and trigger points on a neurological level with the aid of neuromuscular techniques (NMT). Sandra trained as an Osteopath at Oxford Brookes University and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the British Osteopathic Association. Sandra has previously completed a BSc(Hons) in Equine Science at Hartpury College during which time she developed an interest in the injury and rehabilitation of the equine athlete. On completing her degree she gained a position working within the College’s well renowned . It was whilst working at the centre that her interest in Osteopathy developed, initially in its use as a treatment with horses but growing into a keen interest on how it can help riders as well. Combining her knowledge of both the equine and human body Sandra offers a unique service to riders, by helping  riders function better this automatically improves the horses way of going. As well as treating athletes, in particular horse riders, Sandra also enjoys helping a wide range of patients but in particular those with long term conditions such as arthritis or chronic fatigue. Away from osteopathy Sandra has previously ridden and competed to Elementary/Medium level dressage with her own horse. She  also enjoys mountain biking. She competed in the first women’s only mountain biking race “Stilettos on Wheels” in September 2012 gaining a respectable 12th place against some stiff competition including the Swedish National Champion!

Having qualified with a Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy from National School For Remedial Therapy (N.S.R.T).
