""""Dr. Michael Lazanakis graduated from Athens College in 1983 and he entered the Medical School of University of Patras from where he graduated in 1989. After one year training in General Surgery in the General Hospital of Athens and his military service he moved to Great Britain in 1994. He performed his full training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in rotating Hospitals in North London and qualified as a Consultant. He obtained the titles of Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (MRCOG) after written and oral examination and the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) of United Kingdom after regular assessments. He specialised in Fetal Medicine (Royal Free Hospital, London) in endoscopic surgery ( University College Hospital of London & Harold Wood Hospital, Essex) and in Colposcopy (South-End Hospital Essex). He was certified the diploma of Advanced Training in Obstetric Ultrasound from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologiststs and the Royal College of Radiologists, and the diploma in Colposcopy from the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology). During his training he worked in Obstetrical Clinics with high-risk pregnancies and he has been certified to perform the full range of obstetric ultrasound.
In the Gynaecology field, apart from building his experience in handling frequent gynecological problems, he had a widespread exposure and training in a wide range of specialised gynecological problems by taking part in specialized gynecological clinics such as Menopausal Clinics, Infertility Clinics, Endometriosis clinic and colposcopy clinic. He had the opportunity to be trained apart from the general gynecology surgery and also work in large centers for endoscopic surgery (University College Hospital of London & Harold Wood Hospital, Essex) and trained in endoscopic techniques of laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
Before his return to Greece, he worked as Senior Registrar at University College Hospital, London, and Consultant at Queen Charlotte's and Hammersmith Hospital, London. Since early 2004 he settled in Athens and began his collaboration with hospitals IASO and LETO.
In 2013 he was honored by the Royal College of Gynaecologists of United Kingdom with the title of "Fellow" which is given to members of the College who have shown that they continue after years of becoming members of the College to serve the ideals of the College and continue to offer women high quality medical services.
