This is not covered by any Private Insurance and I would be happy to talk to you about whether you are suitable for laser or whether it is not worth spending the extra money.  If you do not have insurance the price will vary according to the type of intraocular lens that you require. When we take out the cataract, we need to replace it with a clear lens that is suited to your eye and your visual requirements. Most people pay around $1500 for the surgery if they don't have insurance (pensioners; or $2050 for non-pensioners); this includes the surgeon fee, intraocular lens (non-toric), anaesthetist and hospital fee.  It is best to make an appointment and have your eyes assessed including all of the appropriate measurements for calculating the lens that you would require.
