Surgery was fantastic and many thanks to the doctor and his team who made this procedure successful

5 50 Cataract Surgery

I had cataract surgery on September 2022 with Dr. Paul. For both my eyes. Surgery was fantastic and many thanks to Dr. Paul and his team who made this procedure successful. After 50 years with distance glasses I don’t need anymore. If you have a similar problem with cataracts I will highly recommend Dr. Paul. Second importance is that price that I got for first time consultation was same without any hidden costs.

Thank you again one and all

5 50 Eye Specialist Consultation

Thanks Dr Paul as well as all the the staff. I had a day procedure just prior to the COVID 19 epidemic and even then the extra attention to hygiene and the expert care offered by the nursing and admin staff at the day surgery in Windsor gardens was excellent and well above my expectations.
Of course Dr Paul and the other doctors were very thorough in their diagnosis, even if that took a bit longer, however the extra attention was well warranted and the operation by Dr Paul and end result have been an absolute relief.
Thank you again one and all.

Service and treatment were seamless, and everything went smoothly

5 50 Eyelid Surgery

The doctor seemed very good, so I felt confident having my eyelid surgery done here. The price on the website was accurate and it was worth the money.

I had really good first impressions of the clinic. Service and treatment were seamless, and everything went smoothly.

Eye Care

$1500 - $1501

C3-R - Corneal Collagen Crosslinking with Riboflavin (1 hour)

C3-R - Corneal Collagen Crosslinking with Riboflavin - Eye Surgeons SA

The price is $1500 per eye and I recommend at least a month if not 2 months between the eyes. I would also need to do some measurements to see if you are suitable for cross linking. Initial consult is around $60 out of pocket and post-op consults are free. Prior to the initial consultation, please do not wear rigid contact lenses for at least 2 weeks (or 2 days for soft lenses) in the eye that is being considered.

up to $3000

Cataract Treatment (10 mins, 3 sessions)

Cataract Treatment - Eye Surgeons SA
Laser cataract surgery or standard phacoemulsification technique using the latest technology for pre-operative measurements and calculation as well as the latest technology for operative success and precision.

If you have hospital insurance there is no gap. This covers all expenses related to the surgery (surgeon, hospital anaesthetist - everything), but there will be additional expenses for the pre-operative appointment (around $50 for measurements related to the surgery).

Laser cataract surgery incurs an extra $500 per eye which is payable to the theatre on the day of surgery. This is not covered by any Private Insurance and I would be happy to talk to you about whether you are suitable for laser or whether it is not worth spending the extra money.

If you do not have insurance the price will vary according to the type of intraocular lens that you require. When we take out the cataract, we need to replace it with a clear lens that is suited to your eye and your visual requirements. Most people pay around $1500 for the surgery if they don't have insurance (pensioners; or $2050 for non-pensioners); this includes the surgeon fee, intraocular lens (non-toric), anaesthetist and hospital fee.

It is best to make an appointment and have your eyes assessed including all of the appropriate measurements for calculating the lens that you would require. You will need a referral from your local doctor or optometrist and you can make an appointment by calling . The initial consultation costs around $60 out of pocket (less for pensioners), but the follow-up appointment post-operatively is included.

RLE - Refractive Lens Exchange

RLE - Refractive Lens Exchange - Eye Surgeons SA

This is an excellent approach for patients over the age of 40 who want to be free of glasses. It is also a good approach for younger patients who are not suitable for LASIK-type refractive surgery (e.g. very long sighted or very short sighted).

The cost depends on the type of intraocular lens required. To determine this we need to discuss your visual requirements and perform a lot of ocular measurements. A consultation costs up to $60 out of pocket (referral required; less for Pensioners) which includes all examination, discussion and measurements required.

Plastic Surgery

$1000 - $3000

Eyelid surgery (1 hour, 2 sessions)

Most patients who enquire are interested in cosmetic enhancement of their eyelids and this is not covered by either Medicare or Private Health insurance. If, however, you have a significant amount of overhanging skin of the upper lids then much of the cost is covered.

Price breakdown is as follows (subject to minor changes):

# Cosmetic lid surgery performed in the clinic procedure room with only local anaesthetic costs $1500 or up to $3000 if upper and lower lids are done.

# Cosmetic lid surgery performed in a Day Surgery Hospital with heavy sedation as well as local anaesthetic costs around $3000 or up to $5000 if both upper and lower lids are done.

# Non-cosmetic upper lid surgery performed in a Day Surgery Hospital with heavy sedation as well as local anaesthetic costs around $500 (with Private Insurance).

Time frame for upper lids alone is around 45 minutes. Lower lids is between 45 minutes and 2 hours depending on the complexity.

It is common to have bruising for around 1 week afterwards and you will have stitches that need to be removed at the 1 week mark. It is possible to use dissolvable stitches but the scar is more noticeable, hence why I remove them.

Serious risks, including infection, are rare (

000); swelling is common and sometimes quite pronounced; the final result may not be apparent for

around 1 - 2 months as some swelling can take a long time to completely resolve. Post-operative care is also included in the price.

You will need a referral from your local doctor or optometrist addressed to Dr. Peter and you can make an appointment by calling. The initial consultation costs around $60 out of pocket (less for pensioners), but the follow-up appointment post-operatively is included.

$1000 - $2000

Blepharoplasty (45 mins, 2 sessions)

Blepharoplasty - Eye Surgeons SA

When enquiring please note which type of blepharoplasty you are interested in:

  • Cosmetic blepharoplasty

with an aim to re-contour your eyelids but still appear natural.

  • Medical blepharoplasty for elderly patients with skin excess are also offered cosmetic enhancement such as fat remodelling, removal or repositioning to achieve a natural, neat and youthful appearance.

  • Lower lid blepharoplasty is also performed for either wrinkles or puffiness (usually caused by fat prolapse)

$1000 - $2000

Eye Lift (1 hour, 2 sessions)

Regarding cosmetic upper eyelid surgery, the price is $1500 for upper lid blepharoplasty of both eyelids. None of the cost will be covered by either Medicare or Private Health Insurance.

The procedure takes around 45-90 minutes, and is performed with mild sedation and local anaesthetic in the North Adelaide rooms. General anaesthetic or heavy sedation can also be used, but the venue and price will need to be discussed (usually around $4000).

Any further touch up surgery to that eyelid is free of charge if required. Post-operative care is also included in the price.

You will need a referral from your local doctor or optometrist addressed to Dr Peter and you can make an appointment by calling . The initial consultation costs around $120 out of pocket (less with referral), but the follow-up appointment post-operatively is included.
