As Director of Bright Futures Health Service, Dr. Gray champions proactive pediatric healthcare. He implements the Bright Futures Framework from the American Academy of Paediatrics, personalised check-ups, evidence-based vaccination programs, developmental screenings, and digital health tools for early detection of potential issues. His preventive approach aims to identify health concerns before they escalate, fostering lifelong wellbeing for his young patients.

Dr. Gray has driven significant improvements in pediatric clinical services at St George’s Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, including expanding specialist services, introducing innovative treatment protocols, developing care pathways for complex cases, and enhancing family support during critical care. He collaborates closely with institutions such as Imperial College Hospitals and The Royal Brompton, improving outcomes for London’s most vulnerable children.

With over a decade of private practice experience at The Harley Street Clinic and The Portland Hospital, Dr. Gray provides expert care in general paediatrics, complex condition management, and long-term care for chronic illnesses, while leading initiatives in clinical governance to reduce adverse events and increase patient satisfaction.

A leader in healthcare innovation, he serves as Chief Clinical Information Officer at St George’s Hospital, implementing hospital-wide EMR systems, achieving HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 certification, and integrating digital platforms to enhance communication and quality improvement.

Dr. Gray’s academic credentials include a Research Fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, an Associate Professorship at McMaster University, numerous peer-reviewed publications on neurocritical care, and regular international conference presentations. His ongoing research and clinical initiatives continue to advance pediatric healthcare in London and beyond.

Dr. Margarita Burmester is a distinguished paediatrician based in London, renowned for over 30 years of dedication to children’s health. Her expertise spans general paediatrics, paediatric cardiac intensive care, critical care, child development, preventative health, and health education. Dr. Burmester provides personalised care to patients from newborns to teenagers, focusing on both preventive strategies and specialised treatments tailored to each child’s unique needs.

She is the co-founder and director of Bright Futures Health, an innovative child health surveillance and screening program modelled on the guidelines of the American Academy of Paediatrics. Operating from 77 Wimpole Street and Chiswick Medical Centre, Bright Futures Health has significantly improved children’s health outcomes, offering comprehensive consultations, developmental assessments, preventative check-ups, and family-centred care.

Dr. Burmester’s career is marked by international experience and advanced medical training. She graduated from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1989, and further trained as a Clinical Fellow at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children in Canada and as a Specialist Registrar at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. She also served as a consultant at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard University and earned a postgraduate certification in clinical education from King’s College London in 2016.

Since 2002, Dr. Burmester has been a consultant paediatric intensivist at Royal Brompton Hospital, leading care for critically ill children and directing specialised teams. From 2009 to 2023, she was the hospital’s director of paediatric intensive care, implementing strategies that improved outcomes and set institutional standards.

In 2008, she launched the SPRinT program, enhancing patient safety through simulated interprofessional training, reducing medical errors, and improving team communication. Internationally recognised, including as International Paediatrician of the Year, Dr. Burmester continues to mentor future paediatricians and advance paediatric care through compassionate practice, education, and innovation.
