In this procedure, a strip of hair from the donor region is taken and the hair grafts are then dissected from it and implanted on the thinning or balding area. Sutures are then used to close the donor area. The area takes several days to heal. This procedure is best for average to extreme balding cases since it allows several grafts to be transplanted in a single session. Even though it leaves a scar, one must understand that this scar will not be visible unless the person shaves his head. The major disadvantage of this method is the poorer graft yield and a longer healing time while also having advantages such as it is much faster and cheaper than Follicular Unit Extraction method.   At Berkowits we can transplant upto 2000 hair grafts through How Trichophytic Closure is performed?   a) o o   b)       STEP-2 o        After the follicular unit has been extracted then the integral part of the process is the extraction of intact follicular grafts. o        The harvested follicular units are then dissected with great care under fibre optic equipped microscopes to avoid the application of heat that may harm the hair follicles. o        Once separated, these follicular units are preserved in a special saline solution at the correct temperature waiting to be placed in the recipient area, which is the bald or thinning area on the scalp. c)       STEP-3 o        The surgeon then first prepares recipient sites on the patient. o        The final step of the surgery is the follicular unit placement. The grafts are placed with due care and attention one by one with forceps by expert hair transplant technician. 

Hair transplant procedures have changed in the decades since they were first done. The earlier methods of using hair plugs were not satisfactory. People looked like they had doll's heads, with hair sticking out of their hair in clumps. Now hair transplants are more natural looking because of a procedure called micro grafting. Most hair transplant surgeries today involve micro grafting to some degree. Micro grafts hold about three or four hair follicles. Older style hair grafts often held more like a dozen hair roots. These new micro grafts are only possible because skilled surgeons have refined the methods of extracting them. Micro grafts are useful in hair transplant surgery because they can give the hair a quite natural appearance. The hair emerges from the scalp in the most natural way, with the same number of hairs that nature intended. If the procedure is done correctly, no one can tell the difference. However unnoticeable and natural micro grafts appear, they do not give you a full, thick head of hair. For that, many hair transplant surgeons will use micro grafts for the hairline and the front and edges of the hair. Then, they will use mini grafts farther back on the scalp. If a person had this arrangement after a hair transplant and then shaved the micro grafts, the mini grafts would look decidedly unnatural. However, with the micro grafts on the leading edges, they blend in and give the hair fullness. They serve an important function. Previously, when hair plugs were used, doctors did the hair transplant surgeries much differently. They used an instrument called a trephine to cut circular grafts from 2mm to 5mm in diameter. These plugs were inserted into the balding area. Now, a multi-bladed knife can be used to cut long thin strips of donor tissue. The strip of scalp will be about an inch wide and five inches long. Then, the hair transplant doctor pulls the skin together where this was taken out, and stitches it together. 

The patient undergoing a Direct Follicle Implant (DFI ™) does not need to shave off hair for the procedure. The doctor begins the replacement procedure after the administration of an update dosage of local anesthesia. Then the doctor begins the direct extraction of the hair follicles from the back of the head. This is done at the back of the head since this area has good donor hair follicles. Once extracted, in our in-house method we can directly implant the follicle on to the required site, but they are preserved in an American fertilizer solution which negates the chances of follical wastage, as they are outside scalp and getting proper nourishment. The chances of follicle wastage are reduced drastically to just 10%.. Amazing huh.., Traditional FUE yields 30% of wastage . Once the implants are done, the head will look full of small little sprouts of hair. Initially the hair will fall off but will re grow for good and the implanted crop will be full bloom in fourth month onward.
