An orthodontic retainer is a device used after orthodontic treatment to help maintain the position of the teeth and prevent them from shifting back. Patients will be instructed to wear their removable retainers day or night, depending on the recommendation of their orthodontist. Orthodontic retainers are an important part of orthodontic treatment as they maintain the results achieved by braces or other orthodontic appliances.
