Went for my first appointment for implants, the service was amazing and I was treated very well. I was very nervous getting this done but I had a much better experience with them than my UK dentist. I can’t believe the difference. The pick up and drop off service was great and very helpful. The clinic was friendly and very clean. The hotel was pleasant and the locals are friendly. Looking forward to my next visit.

I went to Kent to have two white fillings done as well as a scale and polish. The facilities available are quite impressive, and I has given a x-ray as part of the free consultation before being given a written, costed treatment plan to accept or decline. I was apprehensive about seeking treatment abroad, but my translator, Atakan, was very informative and helpful in the lead-up to the appointment. Dr Akdereli completed the work. Unfortunately for me, the cleaning revealed further signs of decay on other teeth, which were previously hidden by plaque build-up. I was shown the areas of decay using a camera. He then offered to stick to the original treatment plan, complete all the fillings I needed on one side, or complete all on both sides for which I would need to pay the difference. I opted to have fillings completed on one side of my mouth so I wouldn’t be numb from anaesthetic across my whole face. Dr Akdereli completed the three fillings within half a hour with no pain except for one tooth where I experienced some discomfort due to the depth of the filling, which is to be expected. No visit to the dentist is ever a positive experience for me as I am an incredibly nervous patient, but I had a substantial amount of work done with minimal pain, and made a large saving compared to the UK. They even price-matched my dental clinic at home with the cost of the polish, as this was originally more expensive here. What would improve my experience realistically would be being informed of what stage of the treatment is taking place by the dentist whilst undergoing treatment. After 20 minutes, I was under the impression I was still having the first filling done, which made me panic. Dr Akdereli reassured me through our translator at this point that he was about to complete the last filling, to my pleasant surprise. He even spoke to me briefly in German, which I can speak partially to lighten the mood. I left the appointment feeling quite stunned - something which is normal for me if I have anything beyond a small filling done - Atakan sat with me in the sun until I had composed myself after the appointment. Whilst I didn’t travel to Istanbul specifically to have dental work done, I would consider returning to Kent in the future. My only hope is that the fillings last a substantial period of time, as I am writing this five days after the appointment. I have no pain in any of the teeth, the fillings are the right height, and I only have minor sensitivity to cold which is to be expected for a couple of weeks. All things considered, this was a generally positive experience.
