Gums are the foundation of teeth. We treat all types of gum disease to ensure beautiful and healthy smile for our patients. Regular scaling and polishing every 6 months is necessary to remove the plaque/ tartar/ germs to prevent it from affecting the gums and bone level. Sometimes apart from scaling and polishing, it is necessary to do root planing (deep cleaning) to remove those plaque that are deposited deep in the gums and is done comfortably under Local Anesthesia. Miss Fenny has many years of experience in treating patients with gum problems and systematically educating them to prevent reoccurrence of the disease. Both Miss Fenny and Miss Evangeline are the backbone of FDC in prescribing hygiene therapy to patients. Medication such as antibiotics and antiseptic mouthwash may need to be prescribed as an adjunct treatment to gum disease. In some patients who are genetically prone to gum disease, it is necessary to come every 4 months to maintain the gum and bone level. In such patients, our gum specialist Dr Hui Chee Wah is the expert in resolving such aggressive gum disease.
