What is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a tooth shaped covering used as a cap over damaged teeth. The purpose of placing a crown is to improve the appearance and strength of the damaged tooth. Crowns are also placed over surgically inserted dental implants.

What are the different types of Dental Crowns?

The types of dental crowns include ceramic crowns, zirconia crowns, porcelain covered corrosion resistant metal crowns or porcelain fused to metal crowns, corrosion resistant metal crowns and gold crowns.

What is the best type of crown?

The best type of crown depends on the need of each individual patient and the position of the tooth. For instance, some people would find a gold crown placed on a front tooth unsightly. Ceramic, tooth coloured crowns placed on the front teeth maintain the natural appearence of the smile.

How long will a Dental Crown last?

Crowns are expected to last for about 5 years. Some crowns could last for up to 30 years. The life of a crown depends on the dental hygiene practiced by the patient and general wear and tear caused by biting, chewing or grinding. Crowns may crack if the patient has an accident.

Is it painful to get a Dental Crown?

Dentists inject local anaesthetic to numb the tooth and gum before placing the crown. The patient will not feel any pain while the crown is being placed. After the anaesthetic wears off the patient may feel mild pain or sensitivity for a few hours.

I felt confident in everyone's level of competency in every respectDale, Franklin, Kentucky, 05 11 17

My case began with an abscess. One, possibly two teeth. They did their best with a root canal to save them, but it wasn't possible. In pulling both teeth, one of the roots separated and needed to be surgically extracted. That's when the surgical doctor took over and extracted that root, then sutured my gum. Although obviously unpleasant, I never felt worried. I felt confident in everyone's level of competency in every respect. Couldn't ask for better treatment and people. Everything, top to bottom, was/is very professional. I live in the U.S but hope to have as much of my dental work done here as possible. 3 different dentists attended to me and I give each of them high praise. One thing I appreciate is that each of them are willing to ask the others for a 2nd opinion; no egos involved, just total consideration for the well-being and comfort of the patient. They also did not charge me for the root canals, but only for the extractions, which was less than root canals. From the time I walked into the waiting/reception room, to being inside the clinic to ending treatment, in all phases, I am so impressed with everything. I would recommend anyone come here for anything related to dental. All the dentists, assistants and office staff are the best of the best.

Dental Crowns ₱15000 - ₱35000
Dental Crowns When you have badly broken down or damaged tooth, your dentist will probably prescribe you a dental crown after treatment because the remaining tooth structure might be took weak already. In this case, a dental crown will be used instead of just a filling to restore your tooth. The dental crown will help support and protect your remaining tooth structure. It will also restore the appearance and functionality of your tooth.   Dental crowns can also be used purely for cosmetic purposes to enhance the shape, alignment or aesthetic appearance of teeth.  For dental implants, dental crowns are also used as the final restoration of the implant.   There are many different materials used for dental crowns depending on what the dentist thinks is best for you. Porcelain, metal, gold, ceramic and resin are some of the types of dental crowns used in dentistry.
