Thorough and gentle approach.

4 50 Fillings, Scaling and Root Planing • Paid: RM310

I have always been afraid to go to any dentist. I dislike all kinds of dental treatment as I find it painful. However, though there was a little pain which I had to endure while having two of my teeth filled, scaled, and polished, I must commend the dentist for her thorough and gentle approach which was reassuring and comforting. I will come back for my regular check-ups.

This clinic has a calming environment. There was sufficient information put on the wall for patients to read while waiting. The receptionist is friendly and efficient, and I chose this clinic based on the positive reviews I read on the internet.

The whole process was super-fast.

1.3 50 Dental Bonding, Teeth Cleaning • Paid: RM200

This was my first time I went to the dentist. The service was average, but the workmanship was harsh for me and causing my gum to feel sore for about six days. I done tooth bonding (to restore one decayed teeth) and cleaning (for the rest). The cleaning was the most painful to me, and I taste blood in my mouth for the next five hours. And cleaning was not that clean. I can see the cavity fraction all over like never been touched before when I get home (all I get was pain only). The whole process was super-fast. I'll do follow up and try other clinics that may offer better workmanship next time.

I am very happy

3.6 50 Dentures, Scaling and Root Planing

I had partial dentures made and in between did scaling but the whole process was completed within 10 days. The dentist was very friendly and explained the procedures very clearly. The price quoted was reasonable and so far I am very happy. I may go back for follow up check up and other treatments as well.

Thank you for the encouraging words En Zulkifli! Hope to see you again during your 6 monthly review.

4.7 50 Dentist Consultation
Were you pleased with the treatment?

I am very pleased. Service quality was excellent, communcation was promt and useful, price as agreed on and everyone at the clinic was smiling at all times :)

Would you recommend the clinic?

Yes I would, the location is a bit far from the city, but the treatment quality makes it worth of the travel. I had 2 wisdom teeth removed there, which is not a nice procedure, but Dr Joon Muthamah made it as pleasant as possible as she explained me everything in detail and she and her team took good care of me.

Would you return for further treatment?

Yes, definitely as I highly trust Dr Joon Muthamah and am very satisfied with the service at Joon Dental Clinic.

This is a procedure to seal off minor grooves and fissures on tooth. These grooves and fissures are potential food traps that causes tooth decay. Sealing them makes the tooth surface smoother and reduces tendency for food to be trapped within the crevasses. Fissure sealant is very popular especially for children as it helps them maintain a considerably healthier oral hygiene and also prevents premature decay.

Dentures

When all teeth are lost, there is no other options but to use full dentures. However in cases of partial teeth loss, patients may prefer a denture as against bridge due to the cost factor. Dentures require regular removal and cleaning. The are mainly two types of denture base: Plastic Base - these are cheaper and lighter but is also lower on durability, chrome-cobalt Base - this is a stronger option and is generally known to give better comfort, Nylon Base - this is among the new generation materials used for denture base that gives obvious user comfort.

Extractions

Permanent tooth that has become completely non-vital and that can’t be saved using any other restorative procedures will have to be extracted. Extraction involves local anesthesia to prevent undue pain and stress on the patient. The tooth is normally checked to see its root condition i. e. whether there is potential breakage of root. If required, an X-ray examination will be done to ensure the whole root profile can be examined. Many factors affect the complexity on an extraction such as the profile of the tooth, the condition of the gums, patient anxiety and also brittleness of the tooth structure.

Fillings

Filling is done to treat tooth decay/carries that is at its initial stage where no major damage has been done to roots and tooth pulp. Amalgam Filling - done using the traditional material (silver compound) and would be visibly non-aesthetic. Tooth coloured filling - which is the more preferred filling material made of composite or glass ionomer or compomer material. As the name goes - this type of filling is visibly aesthetic and would seem to be like the original tooth. Both types of filling have very similar strengths, thanks to the advancement in dental materials technology.

If a tooths nerve chamber becomes infected by decay or is damaged, root canal treatment may be used to save the tooth. This is a last remedy situation where this treatment may still save the original tooth without replacement. In this procedure, unhealthy pulp from the canal is cleaned and subsequently canals are filled with inert material.

Teeth Cleaning

Our teeth becomes stained over time due to various food and also bacterial action. Other than stains, calculus develops due to food debris in the mouth and the build-up of calculus can cause gum swelling and infection. Scaling is done to remove calculus while polishing is to clean stains on tooth. This procedure helps keep the gum-tooth interface clean and healthy thus reducing the possibility of gum disease, swelling and bleeding.

Teeth Whitening

Bleaching is done to whiten teeth by removing intrinsic stains. Oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide is used to “oxidise” the surface of tooth to lighten the shade of the tooth. While this is the easiest way to whiten ones teeth, this procedure is known to cause some sensitivity in some patients. Currently there are some sealing agents that can be used to minimize sensitivity. Bleaching takes approximately 1 hour for one full session (chair side).
