On average, patients need to wear braces for about 2 years and then they need to wear a retainer to maintain the corrected position of teeth. For some adults treatment may take about 3 years.

How are braces installed on teeth?

For fixed braces, the orthodontist dries the teeth and places glue or bonding cement on the braces. The braces are placed on teeth and a UV light is shone on them to cure the glue or cement. For removable braces, an impression of the teeth is taken and a technician makes the removable brace consisting of a plastic plate and wires. The brace is then fitted on teeth.

How do braces work on teeth?

Braces exert a steady pressure on teeth. The pressure is periodically adjusted as needed by the orthodontist. Eventually the pressure exerted by braces corrects the alignment of teeth.

Do braces hurt?

Braces are uncomfortable when first placed on teeth. Patients experience soreness and need to get used to the pressure exerted on the teeth by braces. Patients normally get used to braces within a month.

Everyone would like to have straight teeth and a nice smile. Braces are the traditional way to straighten teeth gradually into position. The treatment usually takes 24 months with regular visits to the orthodontist to adjust the movements. There are payment packages available for this procedure on request.
Ceramic Braces RM8500 - RM9500
Straightening teeth with ceramic braces is an option for people who dont want metal brackets. The ceramic brackets are cemented to your teeth so that the wires can be attached to it to guide the teeth into position.
Metal Braces RM7500 - RM8500
Traditional metal brackets are cemented onto your teeth to allow the teeth to gradually align into position guided by a metal wire. This treatment usually takes 18 months in active treatment then another 6 months in passive (retainer) treatment.
