What is Dental Bonding?

Dental Bonding is a procedure by which composite resin material closely matching the colour of the patient’s teeth is adhered to the tooth to cosmetically enhance its appearance and colour. A curing light, either ultraviolet rays or a laser beam is used to harden the resin.  It takes about 60 to 90 minutes to perform.

Is Dental Bonding painful?

There is no preparation required for bonding and the procedure is pain free. No anaesthetic is required unless the dentist feel there is the need to perform some drilling.

When can I travel by air after Dental Bonding?

Patients can travel by air immediately after a dental bonding procedure unless the dentist advises them against travel.

How long does recovery after Dental Bonding take?

If local anaesthesia is administered, patients may feel uncomfortable till the anaesthesia wears off. The anaesthesia will wear off in a few hours. Dental bonding is a pain free procedure.

How do I care for my teeth after Dental Bonding?

Patients should not drink beverages or eat food that may stain teeth for at least two days. They should brush and floss their teeth regularly and maintain overall good oral hygiene. They should use a soft toothbrush while brushing teeth. They should avoid biting hard objects or eating hard food items. They should stop smoking and drink water after every meal.

What are the alternatives to dental bonding?

I chose this clinic based on the reviews and on the information I received on the first visitNoel, Ireland, 13 02 26

I had a Bridge fitted by Dr. Busru Cinar in the Galway clinic because my two front teeth had become loose and partly decayed. It was value for money because the attention to detail was superb, the staff were very informative, and I'm very happy with the outcome. I chose this clinic based on the reviews and on the information I received on the first visit. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending 3Dental Galway.

Docklands Dental - Dr Gregg Barry

Docklands Dental

1 Forbes Street, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, D02FN53
4.6 from 5 verified reviews
Dr Daniel Collins and Dr Gregg Barry founded Docklands Dental in 2013 after seeing a need for patient-focused, high-quality dentistry in a modern, comfortable setting in the heart of Dublin. Our practice is located at Grand Canal Dock in Dublin 2 — a short walk from the Grand Canal Dock DART station and easily accessible by all major public transport. Our work focuses on cosmetic and restorative dentistry alongside comprehensive general care. For porcelain veneers, we work with master ceramicists to deliver hand-layered feldspathic veneers — the gold standard for natural-looking cosmetic work. We use digital smile design, intraoral scanning, and same-day CEREC technology to make treatment more precise and more comfortable. We offer in-house IV sedation for patients who need it. For specialist work — periodontics, complex oral surgery — we collaborate with our partner specialist clinic ISCD at the IFSC, so cases that need that level of input can be handled within the same care relationship. Pricing is honest and transparent. We don't run discounts or sales offers — instead we focus on getting the work right, using premium materials, and giving you a treatment plan built around what you actually need.
