Crowns can be used for many reasons: Cover broken/cracked teeth Cover severely decayed teeth where it cannot be saved by a filling or restorative material To hold a bridge in place Cover discoloured teeth Many people require crowns because they do not like how their natural teeth look and wish to dramatically improve the appearance and look of their smile Crowns are made from the following materials: Metal or PFM (porcelain fused to metal): Particularly recommended for molars. All ceramic: Used mostly at the front of the mouth where aesthetics are a priority. The shade of the crown is matched to your natural teeth. Teeth whitening prior to having your crown shade taken is sometimes recommended. What to expect when you visit White Smile Dental?
