At the age of 16, Esther was an apprentice hairdresser, learning her trade literally from the shop floor, sweeping up hair. Back in the 1970s, all apprentices’ training was after hours, daytime was for menial duties and plenty of hard work. Esther learnt her trade by studying and watching, and quickly qualified as a Guild Master Craftsman and Beauty Therapist. By the age of 20, Esther had already opened her first hair and beauty salon, which quickly gained recognition winning awards and featuring in the glossies. As she opened more salons, she identified the opportunity to offer her fashion conscious clientele designer wear and her business activities expanded to include couture clothing. In the 1980s, with a young family in tow, Esther moved to the Far East, where she developed a couture fashion label, exporting to Europe and the USA. Whilst in Hong Kong, she took advantage of the wealth of expertise in alternative medicine and trained in a variety of complementary and healing therapies. She qualified as a Certified Intuitive Healer and Reiki Master. Upon her return to the UK in the mid-90s, she was selected as one of Vogue’s top 100 healers. Esther has always believed that the path to outer beauty is through inner health and wellbeing.
