Completed subspecialty training in both breast surgery (at the Sydney Breast Cancer Institute) and surgical oncology?(at the Sydney Melanoma Unit, now Melanoma Institute Australia). He then undertook advanced surgical training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and was awarded the National Breast Cancer Foundation scholarship for completing his Master of Surgery thesis on patient preferences in multidisciplinary breast care in 2005.

Undertook general medical training before choosing to specialise in Plastic Surgery. After studying Plastic Surgery in Sydney, he then completed a further year of training at the prestigious University of Texas, in the USA, working with some of the leading Plastic Surgeons in America during his Craniofacial Fellowship.

Graduated from Sydney University in 1991 and dedicated a further 11 years of academic and surgical training under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to become a fully qualified Plastic Surgeon. He then then spent a further year of fellowship, training in Breast Reconstruction at the University of British Columbia (Canada) and Aesthetic Surgery at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery and Monash University (Australia).
