Treatment by acupuncture involves thin, sterile needles being inserted into the skin at specific points on the body, which help to encourage the body's own healing response.
Acupuncture is a holistic therapy, therefore many aspects are taken into account before reaching a diagnosis, such as diet, lifestyle and medical history. As such, advice in these areas will be given alongside a physical treatment. Palpation of the pulse and observation of the tongue are also used in diagnosis.

Gemma has had several years experience in the clinical and acupuncture fields, is fully qualified, registered and insured.
She has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine to degree level, furthering her studies in Hanoi, Vietnam and Chiang Mai, Thailand, as well as volunteering within NHS clinics.
In 2009, Gemma set up private and low cost community clinics in London, and after having success with trialling an over 60s clinic in her hometown of Margate, decided to join with the team at Revitalize and run the clinic on a more permanent basis.
