My name is Martha Kalana and I am a graduate of the Department of Psychology of the University of Crete (2008). I have an MSc degree in Counselling Studies at the University of Edinburgh (2010) and an MSc in Forensic Psychology at UCLan Cyprus (2022). I have been also trained in Trauma Management, Child and Adolescent Education, Couple and Family Counselling and Divorce Management at the Kapodistrian University of Athens (2015-2018).
I am a Registered Forensic Psychologist (Cyprus Council for the Registration of Psychologists, Reg. No.: 846) and an Integrative Psychotherapist (Full Member of the Pancyprian Association of Psychotherapists, Reg. No.: FMPAP-IN 160).
My professional experience includes:
1. the Association for the Prevention and Treatment of Domestic Violence, where I worked as an Officer of the Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence,
2. Hope for Children, where I worked as a Family Counselor, at the Children's House, which handles cases of child's sexual abuse,
3. Social Welfare Services, where I worked as a Social Services Officer and Family Counselor, in the field of Preventive Work and Support for Families with Minors,
4. the Odysseus Counseling Station, which is under the umbrella of KENTHEA, where I worked as a Treatment Officer with addicted individuals and their families.
I am currently a cooperator at Compass Psychotherapy and Social Support Centre and I provide psychotherapy and personal development services. Services are provided either face-to-face or online.
As a person, I am characterized by authenticity and empathy, which allow me to create a safe therapeutic space in which everyone can express themselves fearlessly and with confidentially. My approach is mainly Human-Centered and is adapted to each individual's needs.
