Damon’s professional background includes extensive experience in private practice & elite athlete management. Damon’s advanced level of training has lead him to work for high profile clinics in Australia and since arriving in theUK for the prestigious Harley Street Physiotherapy, the English Institute of Sport, Premier League Football, UK Athletics, Australian Athletics, Australian Triathlon, British Weight Lifting, British Men’s Basketball and England Cricket.

The aim of My Sports Clinic is to provide the level of physiotherapy service available to world class athletes to people of all ages & abilities.

Treatment Received: Acupuncturist Consultation
My father has struggled for a good few months now after having a hip replacement. Amy worked her magic took her time and LISTEN ( something that doctors haven't done)
After one 45minute treatment/ first consultation my father skipped out of the door feeling the best he had in months.
He can not wait for next week.

Damon graduated from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, in 1997 with 1st Class Honours. He spent the first two years of his career working within the hospital system within a diverse range of medical specialisations including, orthopaedics, outpatients, intensive care, coronary care, brain injury rehabilitation, , geriatric and . 

In 2001 Damon joined the Active Rehabilitation Team in Australia and provided musculoskeletal physiotherapy along with sports coverage for local to national level teams in soccer, rugby league and netball.  In 2004 Damon worked for the prestigious Harley Street Physiotherapy in London, before accepting a position with the Premier League Football club, Sunderland AFC in 2005. Damon launched his successful private practice, My Sports Physiotherapy Clinic in 2006. Damon was recruited by the English Institute of Sport to work with Olympic athletes in the North East of England and provided elite  to many Great Britain and English athletes in athletics, basketball, Olympic weight lifting, rowing, squash, badminton, tennis, sailing, triathlon, and swimming. Damon was called upon to look after elite Aussie athletes in athletics and triathlons during his time in the UK. 

Damon is currently flying the flag for My Sports Physiotherapy in Australia where he has been working with the team at Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy on a project to develop high level private physiotherapy clinics throughout the South-East of Queensland.  Damon is very proud of the success of My Sports Physiotherapy and continues to play a role in the direction of the company.  Damon has recruited top quality staff to provide the level of service people have come to expect from My Sports."

Ainsley Kershaw, SENIOR Chartered Physiotherapist

Ainsley gained a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy at Northumbria University in 2008. He continued to study Sports Injury and Exercise Rehabilitation at St Mary’s College London for a further two years. During this time Ainsley worked at Win Tennis academy based at Bisham Abbey working with elite junior tennis players and took charge of their fitness programmes. Ainsley is currently undertaking clinical research into tendon disorders with a view to gaining a Masters Degree (MSc) in early 2014. Ainsley has recently gained his Masters Degree (MSc) with merit in Summer 2014. He joined the My Sports team in late 2011 initially learning and shadowing for many hours under the mentoring of Damon Voss and has since become a respected member of the My sports physiotherapy team. From 2010-2013 Ainsley enjoyed the role of football physiotherapist for the Northumbria womens 1st team travelling to home and away matches. He is currently working as a physiotherapist for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) covering elite international tennis events across the country.  

Participating in sport has always been Ainsley’s main interest especially football, cricket, athletics and tennis. He played for Sunderland boys football team, represented the county in athletics and, as a junior tennis player, represented Great Britain at home and abroad successfully winning a number of international tennis tournaments. A potential career as a professional tennis player ended due to a chronic knee injury however he is now a highly respected level four tennis coach working within the same venue as my sports clinic.

Aimee APPLEBY, Chartered Physiotherapist

Aimee is new to our clinic bringing a diverse variety of experience for our clients at MY Sports Clinic. Aimee loves to keep fit and active and enjoys running, Pilates, Boxing and weight training, she has 2 children whom she loves spending time with which keeps her busy outside of work.

Aimee is a local north east girl who graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2007 with a BSc Hons Degree in Sports Science and a Diploma in Sports Massage. After gaining an interest in sports injuries she went on to complete a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at Teesside University.

In 2010 Aimee took her first physiotherapy role working for the NHS covering musculoskeletal outpatients, orthopaedics and medical care rehabilitation before moving on to work in private practice. For a further 2 years Aimee worked with a variety of clients in occupational health, private practice and sports, working with clients such as Northumbria men’s football team and East Durham Boxing club. She then went on to take a specialist physiotherapy role in the Military working with an amazing case load from Sporting tactical athletes in the Army, RAF and Navy, including swimmers, marathon runners, rugby players, footballers, RAF Search and rescue team and infantry soldiers, she gained a lot of experience in this role and took great pride in aiming to keep our service men and women fit for duties and deployment.

After relocating back to the North East Aimee now joins My Sports team. She continues to develop her skills in rehabilitation and continues her professional development in Acupuncture, Specialist knee rehabilitation, running analysis and Pilates based rehabilitation. Aimee enjoys teaching Pilates on a one to one basis as well as class based therapy and is set to introduce Pilates on the reformer as part of her treatment skills in the summer of 2016.

Kelly joined the My Sports team in 2014 and plays a key role in the day to day running of the clinic.
