Our physiotherapists are all highly trained and professionally qualified.  All are insured and registered with the major insurance companies.  The team consists of both male and female physiotherapists and each specialises in a chosen area of rehabilitation and treatment as well as being adept at normal modes of physiotherapy. Treatments available include a wide range of physiotherapy modalities including spinal manipulation/adjustments and massage.  We also have various forms of electrotherapy at our disposal to use in the rehabilitation process, including a Tecar Machine used to promote healing by using radiofrequency, athletes such as Rafa Nadal use this for rehabilitation. Whiplash is a trauma injury to the neck typically caused by the forces experienced in a car accident, fall or blow to the head.  It involves the rapid movement sideways, forwards or backwards of the head and neck resulting in an over extension of the tendons and ligaments and damage to the tissues in the neck.  The effects of whiplash are not always immediate and can take a day or two before they are experienced.  Whiplash usually causes tenderness, swelling and pain in the neck, reduced movement in the neck and it can lead to headaches.  It can take several months for people to recover from mild whiplash and it may lead to longer-term neck and back problems. Symptoms The following symptoms are commonly associated with whiplash:  Pain in the neck and back Muscle spasms Numbness or tingling in the hands and arms Headaches Dizziness, blurred vision and vertigo Tinnitus Difficulty swallowingChiropractic Treatments for Whiplash Your  plan depends on the severity of your injury. The most common chiropractic technique is spinal manipulation. A chiropractor can help with recovery from whiplash in many ways.  After locating the areas where there is a lack of mobility and where swelling may have occurred, it is possible to manipulate this area through gentle massage and stretching to reduce the inflammation and restore more movement.  As symptoms and pain reduce, the chiropractor can work on a wider area along the spine and any other effected joints to improve mobility and support to the injured neck.
