About Fit For Sport Trumpington

All the therapists are graduates in sports therapy and the clinics have a professional environment with treatment rooms and rehabilitation suites. Mr Nick Gardiner - at Fit For Sport Trumpington

Mr Nick Gardiner

Biography:
In May 2012, Nick graduated from his PGCHE course with a distinction and is currently doing his PhD in biomechanics and ACL injury prevention. He has had his work on Sports Therapy assessments published in a 2010 article for the education journal Investigations in university teaching and learning, has written a chapter for a new Sports Therapy textbook and made contributions to Brukner and Khan’s 2012 edition of the seminal textbook, Clinical Sports Medicine. Nick has also written for Cooler Magazine, which combined his passion for surfing with sports therapy in an article outlining the most common injuries in the sport. Nick led Fit For Sport through to the final 3 of F.I.G’s London entrepreneur competition, winning a year’s business consultancy for his pitch in front of the venture capitalists. In September 2012, Nick gave an interview on Radio 5Live providing his expert opinion on the controversy surrounding Owen Hargreaves’s injuries at Manchester United.
Richard Luddington - at Fit For Sport Trumpington

Mr Richard Luddington

Biography:
Rich has treated a number of high profile clients including the regular treatment of Eddie Izzard for injury prevention prior to his Sport Relief Marathon Man challenge. He has also worked with athletes from the Olympic and Winter Olympics, Commonwealth Games, England U18’s Rugby, ultra endurance events along with many ‘weekend warriors’.

He was shortlisted as one of five finalists for 2009 National Student Travelling Scholarship to Canada offered by The Society of Sports Therapists. He presented his dissertation on core stability in the first Society of Sports Therapists Student Conference and been a guest speaker at Kent University.

Rich spent a year with Millwall FC prior to graduating and now does work with Cambridge United providing pitchside first aid, injury treatment and rehab for the Scholars and Academy players. He has aided sports teams on trips to France, Holland, Spain, Germany and Australia.  He has also helped a corporate event in Val d’Isere offering injury prevention, treatment and post activity massage during extreme sports events. 

Ms Chelsea Papworth - at Fit For Sport Trumpington

Ms Chelsea Papworth

Biography:
Chelsea Papworth qualified from the University of Worcester with a BSc(Hons) degree in Sports Therapy. She has previously worked with Malvern RFC, CambridgeUnited Academy FC, worked at the University’s in-house injury clinic, and provided massage for their rowing team during their successful world record attempt.
Chelsea was also a finalist for the Society of Sports Therapists Student Travelling Scholarship where she was given the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in Windsor, Canada at the University of Windsor’s injury clinic. She gained experience with athletes from a range of sports including basketball, ice hockey and track and field.
