Ms Louise Armstrong
Job Title:
Physiotherapist Biography:
Graduated from University College Dublin in 1998. Her experience in Paediatric Physiotherapy began in Enable Ireland in 1999 and she took up a Senior Paediatric post in Co. Wexford in 2001. During this time Louise has liaised with leading experts in Paediatrics at Our Lady's Childrens Hospital Crumlin, The Children's University Hospital, Temple St., and Central Remedial Clinic, keeping up-to-date in her knowledge of current best practice for children. Her vast experience with Paediatric conditions varies from diagnosed conditions such as Developmental Delay,Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Juvenile Arthritis, Down's Syndrome and Dyspraxia to more subtle problems such as flat feet, intoeing, hypermobility and clumsiness. Louise has supplemented her paediatric knowledge over the years with courses in Sensory Integration and Myofascial Release. She uses both as part of physiotherapy treatment and has found Myofascial Release techniques to be a gentle yet effective way of dealing with other common paediatric complaints, such as constipation, colic and reflux. She recognises the need for a different approach to physiotherapy with children, and her therapy sessions are play-based, making the experience fun and practical for both children and parents. Having three children herself, Louise has first-hand experience of how busy life is for parents, and she tries to integrate their home programme into their normal day, thereby maximising their potential for improvement.
