Back Pain
Dry Needling involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the muscle in the region of a “Trigger Point’. The aim of Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain. Dry needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin with very few side effects. This technique is unequaled in finding and eliminating neuromuscular dysfunction that leads to pain and functional deficits. The needle used is very thin and most subjects do not even feel it penetrate the skin. A healthy muscle feels very little discomfort with insertion of this needle. However if the muscle is sensitive and shortened or has active trigger points within it, the subject will feel a sensation like a muscle cramp -‘the twitch response’. The patient also may feel a reproduction of “their” pain which is a helpful diagnostic indicator for the practitioner attempting to diagnose the cause of the patients symptoms. Patients soon learn to recognize and even welcome this sensation as it results in deactivating the trigger point, reducing pain and restoring normal length function to the involved muscle.

Entire experience was nothing short of exceptionalD, Ireland, 19 11 16

Arrived in Dublin from the US with a very stiff neck. By mid morning I could not move my neck, shooting pain in my muscles and lower back, looked on line for a massage and called Archview. Lynsey suggested physiotherapy and two hours later I was at the clinic. The treatment was new to me, pins similar to those used for acupuncture were used on my neck muscles to relieve the spasms. After 45 minutes of this treatment the excruciating pain was gone and I could move my head again without holding it between my hands, my jaw worked, headache gone. My wife is signed up now to see if the same results can be achieved on her back.

Patrick assured me it would be treatableDerek, Dublin, 18 09 14

I had severe neck pain and headaches for over 3 weeks which was affecting my sleep and daily life. I couldn't move my neck and my left ear felt blocked and was quite painful. I have found that going to my family doctor is a waste of time with this kind of pain so was sticking it out hoping the pain would ease. It didn't. My friend goes to Patrick in Dublin City Chiropractic and suggested I have a consultation with him. Patrick assured me it would be treatable, gave me tips to aid recovery and now after 3 treatments I can freely move my neck, have no headaches, no pain in my neck or ear and most of all I can sleep again. I will continue to visit with Patrick after these results.
