Jennifer Murphy

Biography:
Bsc (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine
Registered Osteopath OCI

Jennifer first came across Osteopathy whilst studying Nutritional Science at UCC. Its holistic approach to the body resonated strongly with her and she knew instantly that this was what she wanted to do. Her training began with obtaining a two year diploma in Health Science and Applied Physiology at the Carlow Institute of Technology before going on to complete a 4 year B.Sc (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine,UK.

Since graduating, she has been in private practice treating both adults and children. She enjoys treating people of all ages from the newborn to the elderly and also has a keen interest in women and children’s health. She has undertaken several postgraduate courses in paediatrics (children) and obstetric osteopathy (The treatment of pregnant women) along with courses in the field of visceral and cranial osteopathy and continues to expand her skills in these areas with regular post graduate courses.

After a stint of travelling in New Zealand and working in a rehabilitation hospital in Sydney, Jennifer decided to set up her own practice on returning to Ireland in January 2012. Prior to this she gained extensive experience as an associate in two Dublin practices one of which she continues to work in part time- MoreHealth located in Skerries, North County Dublin.

Her holistic approach to treatment is based on a structural and cranial model, which aims to treat the whole person not just the specific symptoms. Thus maximizing each person’s health potential so they can express their health to its fullest and get on with the important business of enjoying life pain free.
