Direct Healthcare International was formed to meet a demand for low cost surgery using hospitals in Belgium, where the surgical standards are second to none. With this aim in mind we sought to use surgeons that we knew by reputation, CV history, and surgical history. These surgeons in order to qualify to be accepted by Direct Healthcare International Limited need to demonstrate a proven track record and in addition carry out a minimum of 250 surgeries a year in their discipline. This we felt sure were criteria that would find excellent experienced tried and tested surgeon and indeed have proved so.

Specialising in Obesity Surgery, (Gastric bypasses), Orthopaedic (hip, Knee, spine, hand, ankle, wrist), Gynaecology, General Surgery and Internal Medicine,

Direct Healthcare International Limited pride ourselves on providing a quiality service from the point of departure (airport train station, home pickup) to the hospital through recovery and back home, the client is entirely in our hands. At first we didn’t always get it right but our philosophy of listneing to our clients following up nad taking direct action on any complaints means that we have come to be a well ordered smooth running organisation with the experience of thousands of succesfull treatments and out comes leaving thousands of happy clients. Today thanksfully copmplaints are very rare. A recent survey said 95% of clients were entirely satisfied and 98% of clients would use Direct Healthcare International Limited again.

I have maintained the weight loss

5 50 Gastric Bypass • Paid: £7928

I had my gastric bypass (RNY) surgery 3 years ago (01/06/2012) with Dr De Clerqc in Antwerp and I could not be more thrilled.
I lost my excess weight rapidly but safely over 7 months and plateaued at 58kg (from a 125kg pre op weight) and have maintained the loss ever since.
I no longer have sleep apnea and my blood work shows me as healthy as an ox these days!
Dr De Clerqc was excellent and responsive and gave great after surgery care. I recommend him to anyone. He changed my life.
This was the best money I ever spent on myself and I haven't regretted it for a second.

Excellent from start to finish. Thorough, professional, kind and above all, excellent in what they do.
Dr De Clerqc was an amazing surgeon, I have barely noticeable scars and everything was arranged well through Direct Healthcare International. Private room, excellent nursing staff (who all spoke English) and extremely thorough pre op tests to determine if you are well enough to be successful during and after the op.

Dr. Stefaan De Clercq performs over 1000 abdominal surgical procedures a year, focusing on:

·       Bariatric surgery (laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic gastric banding and laparoscopic gastric sleeve resection as well as the more advanced and complex procedures as conversions of Scopinaro BPD, VBG or gastric band to gastric bypass)

·       Colorectal Tumors (complete laparoscopic approach since 2003).

·       Abdominal wall surgery (Endoscopic approach of abdominal wall repair; complex groin problems)

Dr. Stefaan De Clercq is Specialized and certified in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and teaches laparoscopic techniques to Belgian residents at IRCAD.  He is recognized by Covidien to teach advanced bariatric procedures to fellow European surgeons (United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands)   

Dr. De Clercq has given several oral and video/poster presentations at International Congresses (IFSO, EAES, IRCAD) focusing on bariatric surgical procedures and abdominal wall surgery
