Welcome to my website. My name is Trudie Lawless and I am a Massage Therapist in Wicklow Town where I provide a personalized service from my dedicated therapy room. Each client is given a unique treatment and home-care plan that is specifically tailored to their presenting condition and current needs. I am an associate member of the Irish Massage Therapist’s Association (IMTA) and am CIBTAC/ITEC qualified. In 1982 I obtained my CIBTAC Diploma and practiced beauty and massage therapy for Coiffeur Trans Ocean, then the largest cruise line spa operator in the world. I worked on various cruise lines for 5 years. When I returned to Ireland, I took a career break, however in recent years I went back to further my studies and took an ITEC qualification in stone therapy and sports massage. In the last couple of years I attended an intensive training programme for oncology massage. The last 10 years has seen numerous studies designed and undertaken to evaluate oncology massage. The role of complementary therapies in cancer care has transformed the way many patients cope with illness and related side effects. Massage is an effective and highly appreciated therapy for cancer patients and their families. It is physically and emotionally relaxing, it reduces stress and it provides substantial comfort. I am delighted that I can offer this additional modality to my treatments Recently I completed a 5 day intensive seminar on Orthopedic Massage which can be incorporated into sports/deep tissue massage depending on your presenting condition. for additional information on “The cutting Edge” in orthopaedic & Sports Massage by author and international lecturer James Waslaski. I also look after the local Ashford GAA Senior football team by providing pre/post sports massage, taping and strapping ,along with pitchside first aid on match day and training sessions. I am inspired to learn and grow as a therapist and intend to do this by participating in various continuing education courses that will help to widen my knowledge and skills.
