LASIK from £1795
At Optegra we use the most advanced equipment for Laser Eye Surgery. All laser treatments involve the use of a laser to change the shape of your cornea and alter your eye’s focusing power. Making the procedure safer and more accurate with better results, and completely blade free for a faster recovery. LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is the most common laser treatment performed worldwide and is usually a two-stage procedure. It takes around 10 minutes to treat each eye. Once your eye has been anaesthetised, a femtosecond laser is used to create an extremely thin flap on your cornea (1). By using a laser instead of a blade, the flap can be created with greater precision and with minimal pain. The tissue under the flap is then reshaped using an excimer laser (2) before the flap is carefully placed back again (3).Every individual is different. You will need to have a consultation with one of our consultant surgeons who will conduct an in-depth assessment to determine your suitability and tailor an individual solution to you.LASIK is usually suitable for people with:Myopia (short-sightedness) Hyperopia (long-sightedness) Astigmatism (irregular- shaped cornea) £1,795 per eye
LASEK from £1795
At Optegra we use the most advanced equipment for Laser Eye Surgery. All laser treatments involve the use of a laser to change the shape of your cornea and alter your eye’s focusing power. Making the procedure safer and more accurate with better results, and completely blade free for a faster recovery. LASEK (laser-assisted epithelial keratomileusis) is a surface treatment that avoids the need to create a corneal flap. The total treatment takes around 10 minutes per eye. It works by softening the thin upper layer of the cornea (1), called the epithelium, before moving it aside (3). An excimer laser (4) is then applied to the exposed tissue before the thin layer is put back in its original position (5). A special contact lens is then applied to protect the epithelium while it heals (6). Every individual is different. You will need to have a consultation with one of our consultant surgeons who will conduct an in-depth assessment to determine your suitability and tailor an individual solution to you. LASEK is suitable for people with: less serious eye focusing problemsthis corneasdry eye Unable to have LASIK £1,795 per eye

iLASIK from £1195
ILASIK LASIK is the most common technique, this is mainly due to its faster healing times. A flap made from two layers of corneal tissue forms a natural protection around the eye during the recovery period. Most patients see instant results and return to work the next day
LASEK
LASEK from £595
Around 1 in 10 Optical Express patients are suited to LASEK. It is the better option for people with thin corneal tissue as only one layer is moved to reveal the cornea. A protective 'bandage' contact lens is placed over the eye to help with recovery. Healing time is around two weeks.
