The relentless pursuit of perfection took him to the best centers in the world such as Doheny Eye Institute-USC, Los Angeles Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland & Jules Stein Eye Institute-UCLA, Los Angeles for specialized fellowships where he mastered the entire spectrum of refractive surgery techniques. Over a career spanning 16 years, he has witnessed the growth of the laser vision correction from a budding science to a mature specialty and has personally used every possible laser technology along the way. He has a vast surgical experience of thousands of patients from all walks of life with all kinds of complex vision disorders. Being an academic, he contributes articles to scientific journals and is a reviewer for many reputed journals. He endeavors to share his experience with lectures at national and international conferences. He was awarded a prize at the Castroviejo Cornea Society meeting during the American Academy of Ophthalmology for research in a new application of the excimer laser that is now an accepted method of laser vision correction. As a responsible citizen, Dr Sujal Shah is always engaged in self-less activities, such as eye camps for the needy and service to religious monks through his association with many social organizations.
