A post-graduate in Ophthalmology, Dr Vinod Goyel was awarded Fellowship to the International College of Surgeons (F.I.C.S.), Illinois, USA in 1992. He set up his private practice in Ophthalmology at Mulund, Mumbai over 3 decades ago. At a time when people from Mulund used to travel to South Mumbai even for basic eye care, Dr Goyal established Vision Care, a Microsurgery Centre in 1981 and made a niche of his own in the field of Microsurgery, IOLs, Squint, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Intensive Eye Care & Community Ophthalmology. He founded Surya Eye Institute and Research Center in 1998 Dr. Goyal has been a pioneer in bringing world class technology to the average citizen in this part of the city. Surya Eye Institute is the first Eye Hospital in Mumbai to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Certification, by RWTUV, Germany, ensuring a Quality System for provision of Ophthalmic Services.

Trained Retina and Cataract surgeon

After completing MBBS & Post Graduation in ophthalmology from Pune, Dr Jay Goyal joined the prestigious L V Prasad Eye Institute – one of the world's largest and leading eye hospital for a 3 years long fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology. His training included Cataract, Retina, Glaucoma, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Uveitis etc. In the last 6 months of his tenure, he worked exclusively in Department of Retina where he was extensively trained in managing various Retinal Conditions, LASERS etc.
