Phacoemulsification

It is a suture less cataract surgery where the cataract lens is emulsified using ultrasound energy and aspirated using a very small wound of 2.8 mm . The surgery requires no anesthetic injection if a foldable IOL is implanted.

IOL means an artificial lens that is placed in the position of natural lens inside the eyes for vision correction. Unifocal IOLs correct either distance or near. The patient has to wear glass for the correction of renaming power.
