Biography:
After a happy childhood in Germany and the United States Alex went to study dentistry at the Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg/ Bavaria. After receiving his qualification in 1997 he joined the Army Medical Corps of the German Bundeswehr as a medical officer. Between 1999 and 2004 Alex worked as an oral surgeon in a large referral practice for oral and maxillofacial surgery linked to the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the General Hospital, Ingolstadt/Bavaria.
He received his postgraduate qualification as a specialist in oral surgery both by the Bavarian Dental Board in Munich and the General Dental Council in London.
In 2001 Alex was awarded a doctorate by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Würzburg University Hospital.
Dr. Kottenhahn has been an associate dentist here at Alaska House since early 2005 and has been looking after all the daily treatment needs of his patients. His special interests are in cosmetic and implant dentistry.

Pawel was born and lived for many years in the city of Poznan ( Poland) where he graduated from the Medical University in 2001. At that time he met Ewelina and since then their joint adventure in dentistry started.
Between 2002 and 2004, Ewelina and Pawel worked as Dentists at a Dental Clinic in Leszno (Greater Poland). In 2003, Pawel set up a private practice back in Poznan-Lubon and practiced there until March 2005.
He very much wanted to move to England and has been here since April 2005. Since then Pawel has worked as an Associate at several dental practices across Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire to gain a lot of experience from different dental environments. Thanks to that, he found out that while there certain dental settings may vary from one another, the majority of patients desire clinical excellence and gentle care. He also realized that every patient is special.

Ewelina was born in Slupca in Poland. Studying Dentistry at Poznan Medical University (Poland) between 1996 and 2001, Ewelina received her full dental licence – Bachelor of Dentistry. This is also where she met her husband Pawel.

Between 2002 and 2004, Ewelina and Pawel worked as Dentists at a Dental Clinic in Leszno (Greater Poland). In 2004, they set up a private practice in her hometown - Strzalkowo and practiced there until the end of 2005. Moving to England in 2006, Ewelina worked as an Associate at Cavendish Dental Practice, Derby and Holt House Dental Care in Matlock- in the middle of the beautiful Peak District.
