May House Dental Practice

Alan qualified with honours in 1970 and has been practicing in the South West for his entire career. He set up May House Dental Practice over 30 years ago and has built a practice renowned for its high quality of care. Alan has been at the forefront of providing implant retained teeth since the early 1990s and works closely with the Torbay Implant Group. Outside the practice Alan is widely travelled and brings back stunning photos to share his adventures. A keen performer, many will have seen him sing and act in the local Gilbert and Sullivan group.

Emma’s dental career began in 1997 and followed from her life in commerce and human resources. She trained initially as a dental technician and then as a dentist winning several awards during her training. As well as working at May House she also works as a Clinical Supervisor at Peninsula Dental School teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Emma is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in restorative and implant dentistry. Her philosophy of continuing education in ethical treatment planning and the biological impact of treatment are reflected in the contemporary care she offers.

Dr Alexandra Dring, known as Sandra, has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and endodontics (root canal treatment) and works in Totnes and Torquay. She lives in Dartmouth with her husband and has two children, one currently at university. She is a keen rower and cyclist.
