I was recommended to Dr. Kayhan by some friends that had crowns done. I subsequently got in touch through the WhatClinic site. I sent an OPG Xray and got a quote based upon it. I made an appointment by email and made accommodation arrangements, easy / lots of choice.
I arrived at the dentist's surgery, (which is directly behind the police station and next to the marketplace) and was treated very well throughout. A very nice assistant got Dr. Kayhan and all subsequent discussions were in perfect English - on his part anyway!
I decided on 21 crowns, all my own teeth except 2 at the back! Dr. Kayhan did all the drilling and root canal treatment in one 1-2hr sitting, no pain at all. A couple of painless injections which I didn't really feel and I left the first day with a full set of 'temporary' teeth.
It took 5 days for the crowns to be made and delivered to the surgery. On the day, Dr. Kayhan was not happy with one of my front teeth so had to do a further root treatment and so with that done, the new teeth were fitted. I must admit that I did have a small amount of discomfort at a few points during the course of the treatment but this was very minor (2 paracetamols at night) and improved with the new crowns.
New teeth fitted, what are they like? Well just basically a bit different and strange in comparison with what you're used to. A bit sensitive to hot and cold at first, but that settles. Now its a month and everything fine, I'm very happy, would recommend to all. Even better, it cost me about half of the price in London, even including 10 days in wonderful Yalikavak.
I was a bit worried at first how I would find the address, given its all in Turkish. As it turned out it is easy to find. Right next to the main square, behind the police station. I found it a very modern surgery, minimalist almost, but comfortable. Very clean and top-notch modern equipment. The reception staff I found very helpful and polite but is learning English - she will always go and get Yufuk if there is a language difficulty, he speaks fluent English.
