What is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a tooth shaped covering used as a cap over damaged teeth. The purpose of placing a crown is to improve the appearance and strength of the damaged tooth. Crowns are also placed over surgically inserted dental implants.

What are the different types of Dental Crowns?

The types of dental crowns include ceramic crowns, zirconia crowns, porcelain covered corrosion resistant metal crowns or porcelain fused to metal crowns, corrosion resistant metal crowns and gold crowns.

What is the best type of crown?

The best type of crown depends on the need of each individual patient and the position of the tooth. For instance, some people would find a gold crown placed on a front tooth unsightly. Ceramic, tooth coloured crowns placed on the front teeth maintain the natural appearence of the smile.

How long will a Dental Crown last?

Crowns are expected to last for about 5 years. Some crowns could last for up to 30 years. The life of a crown depends on the dental hygiene practiced by the patient and general wear and tear caused by biting, chewing or grinding. Crowns may crack if the patient has an accident.

Is it painful to get a Dental Crown?

Dentists inject local anaesthetic to numb the tooth and gum before placing the crown. The patient will not feel any pain while the crown is being placed. After the anaesthetic wears off the patient may feel mild pain or sensitivity for a few hours.

The price was competitively affordable and the service is the best above and beyondSamirah, Turkey, 14 09 20

We travelled all the way from London, United Kingdom to Baron Dental Clinic also known as Side Dental Clinic. The owner is exceptional. The hospitality, the service, the dentist and all the staffs are first class. We were looked after like nothing we have seen in the United Kingdom. The price was competitively affordable and the service is the best above and beyond. My dentist is too good and the owner way to kind. Their hospitality is absolutely on point. I am looking forward to doing all my teeth there. I am very very satisfied. I strongly recommend Baron.

Zirconia supported porcelain crowns are prosthesis for which white colored zirconia alloy is used rather than metal. Zirconia crowns have this aesthetic appearance close to natural teeth and are quite more aesthetic compared to metal supported crowns. They reflect the light. They do not lead to a dark colored line in parallel to gums as a white colored alloy is used for the infrastructure. They are 100% in harmony with human body. They do not cause any allergic reactions. As for monolithic zirconia crowns, porcelain is not applied. The whole structure is prepared by 3D printers and the result is ideal aesthetics

I will return for treatment 100%Anna, UK, 13 01 17

Consultation at this time only but I will return for treatment 100% I came for a consultation during my holiday and was greeted with professionalism, a calm environment & wonderful service. Unable to proceed this time due to a lack of time necessary to complete my treatment I will return soon. The clinic was clean, full of certificates, everyone spoke English which was very reassuring and not only did they come up with a price half of the one I was quoted in the UK but I saw a lot of people both Turkish and foreign there which put me very much at ease.

Dental Crowns ₺316 - ₺210
Crowns are an ideal way to rebuild teeth which have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling. The crown fits right over the remaining part of the tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape and contour of a natural tooth. Crowns are sometimes also known as ‘caps’.
