What are Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells, also called dental laminates, that are used to cover unsightly teeth and give patients attractive smiles. They are easy to place and can quickly improve the smile of patients with dental cracks and stains, and for patients who have gaps between their teeth.

What is the difference between Veneers and Dental Crowns?

Veneers cover only the front portion of teeth. Crowns cover or replace the entire tooth. Crowns are therefore thicker than veneers. A major portion of the tooth needs to be reduced before placing a crown while only a small portion of the tooth needs to be reduced before placing a veneer. A crown is used for covering damaged teeth and is also placed over a dental implant. A veneer is only used for cosmetic purposes.

What are the best types of Veneers?

The best type of veneer depends on the needs of each individual patient. Some veneers can be easily placed without much tooth preparation. Some veneers are suitable for severely damaged teeth. Some veneers can be easily made in the clinic and patients do not have to wait long for their placement. Some veneers are cheaper than others and are suitable for patients looking for a low cost option.  Your dentist should discuss the options with you so you can make the best choice.

How long before you can eat after getting Veneers?

Dentists recommend that patients eat only soft foods after veneers are placed, and for the first few days, until they get used to them. Veneers are normally bonded firmly to teeth and patients can eat any type of food.

What are Veneers made from?

Veneers are made from ceramic, composite resins or zirconium.

From the first appointment I was impressed with the ambience, cleanliness and equipmentEileen, Spain, 24 02 20

After visiting and reviewing various Dental Clinics in the Malaga area I chose to have treatment at Crooke and Laguna as I was impressed with the quality of their web-site and qualifications and experience of staff. I was not disappointed. Over the course of two years, I have had extractions, a sinus lift, implants and crowns and from the first appointment I was impressed with the ambience, cleanliness, equipment and the friendliness, expertise and professionalism of all the staff and all achieved at a reasonable cost compared to the UK. I do not hesitate to recommend this Clinic.

dental implant ........... 750 euroscrown over implant (abutment included)............450 eurosSpain is one of the most attractive countries for dental treatment in Europe for many reasons. Costs can be as low as 50% compared to private dental clinics costs in Western Europe. The large expat population in the country means English speaking dentists in Spain are readily available. Low cost flights are available to many Spanish cities which makes travelling for dentistry in Spain easier and more affordable than travelling to most other countries. The chance to relax and recuperate afterwards in the warm Mediterranean sunshine is another good reason why a large number of dental visitors from northern Europe have come to Spain for treatment. With its  glorious climate, spectacular scenery and fine beaches, Spain has long been one of Britain's favourite destinations - for holidays, second homes and retirement. Now, the emergence of high quality clinics - coupled with the favourable prices - are making Spain important as a medical destination as well. The large expat population in Spain means that every kind of English speaking facility is readily available and the number of low cost flights from all British airports makes getting there easier than to almost any other European country.Considerable savings can be made by travelling to Spain for cosmetic dentistry or for treatments such as dental implants and dental crowns. Veneers 360 €
Often an alternative to crowns, veneers are very thin pieces of specially-shaped porcelain that are glued over the front of your teeth with little or no anesthesia needed. They are the cure for teeth that are severely discolored, chipped, have small holes or pits, misshapen or crooked, or for the correction of unwanted or uneven spaces. Unlike crowns, veneers won't require the dentist to remove much of the tooth itself in most cases. In some cases more tooth will need to be removed, which may increase the risk of trauma to the tooth. Veneers are created from an impression taken in the dentist's office. Your custom veneer is then glued directly onto your tooth. Typically costing less than crowns, veneers won't stain, making veneers a very popular solution for many people seeking that perfect smile. Strong and very durable, veneers last from ten to fifteen years, and come in colors that will brighten dark teeth without the worry of them changing color.
