About Gangseo Bareuni Dental Clinic

Orthodontist / cranial osteopathy by MCB(mandibular cranial balancing) splint.

It is a method that ordinary people who are not osteopathic doctors can feel, and those who have studied osteopathy a lot can feel all the cranial bones and movements of the whole body with finger palpation. This is how you know if you have a problem with your skull or jaw joint. Without touching your teeth, you feel the sensation of turning your fingers in contact with your eyes or jaw joint. Your jaw is distorted if your teeth touch and your movement increases.

If splint, ALF, MARPE, or Elastic are used or adjusted, the movement should be reduced or eliminated compared to the state without touching the teeth. When the MCB/H and MCB/L are not twisted, they do not rotate at all, and they only expand and contract, which are the natural movements of the skull. If there is a turning movement, the movement of the skull bone is wrong, and if so, the device is rebuilt in a new position.

There are four types of MCB splint

MCB/H(first)

This one is a disposable splint used for 10 minutes and is used in an MCB technique.

- The duration of the device is 10 minutes until the 130th session of the MCB splint. After that, we will create a new device after an hour.

MCB/L (second)

This one is a splint used when the patient goes to sleep.

MCB/C (third)

This one is worn when sleeping or exercising, this does not change and should be worn within 8 hours.(Patent in Progress)

Customized splint /hard resin device (fourth)

MCB splint position

The movement that goes in the opposite direction above is called the MCB (Mandibular Cranial Balancing) position. If the lower jaw is unbalanced from left to right sides, it makes the sphenoid bone unbalanced too. If the lower jaw is unbalanced from front to back, the temporal bone gets unbalanced at the same time. The MCB position is the one and only right position from left to right and front to back. The height of the dental interlocking should be exact for this MCB position for the occipital bone to move normally and properly.

Right now, if you try to push down on the muscles of your outer thighs with two fingers, you can feel your muscles slide down within 4 seconds, normally during the first or two seconds. This basically means all of your muscles have been and are still falling down. But when we use the MCB device, the muscles no longer fall down and even goes back up within a second. In conclusion, we need the MCB slpint treatment to create proper movement in our skull and if it moves normally, we can still feel our muscles go up even without the MCB splint device. Therefore our body posture will be balanced, and we can prevent symptoms.

In the skull, it can be seen that all the skull bones are moved in the direction in which they are not moved by palpation, which is correctly arranged in the three-dimensional direction. In this movement, you can feel the three-dimensional movement in the non-distorted direction even when the sphenoid bone and the maxilla are in the same twist (Torsion) or in opposite directions (Side-bending). All dental treatment should be performed in a position where the three-dimensional position of the lower jaw is not shifted by each skull. With this treatment, not only the dentist himself but also his family, patients, and everyone on the planet will be happy.
