What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth coloured coverings also known as porcelain laminates used to cover the front of the tooth. They are placed to improve the appearance of smiles by changing the colour, length or size of teeth. The porcelain used to make the veneers is of a high quality and is generally long lasting.

What is the difference between Porcelain Veneers and Dental Crowns?

Porcelain veneers are only used to cosmetically correct the appearance of smiles. They only cover the front portion of the tooth. Dental crowns cover the entire tooth and are used to cover damaged teeth. Crowns are also placed over surgically inserted dental implants. Crowns are thicker than veneers. The patient’s tooth structure does not need much reduction for the placement of a porcelain veneer. A major portion of the tooth structure has to be reduced before the placement of a crown.

How long do Porcelain Veneers last?

Porcelain veneers last between 10 and 20 years. Patients need to follow the dental maintenance care instructions strictly to ensure that their porcelain veneers don’t wear out or chip. Porcelain veneers are the strongest and costliest type of veneer.

Is it painful getting Porcelain Veneers?

The dentist will administer a local anaesthetic before placing porcelain veneers. This is because the teeth of some patients are more sensitive than others. Since very little tooth structure is reduced for placing veneers, patients will not feel pain after veneers are placed. Some patients may feel a little soreness or sensitivity for a few days after the anaesthesia wears off.

I was totally impressed with the clinicJean, Canada, 20 01 25

My wife and I were in Mazatland from January 3 to the 17th, 2025 and we were staying at El Cid Castilla Beach resort. Several days before leaving I lost a filling on my back molar and asked the resort staff if they would recommend a Dentist. They recommended Dr, Francisco Gavito so I called the clinic and spoke directly with Dr. Gavito to make an appointment. The next day I went and he did my dental work. I was totally impressed with the clinic and Dr. Gavito did and excellent job fixing my tooth. While there I also got my teeth cleaned and polished. The clinic is spotless and the work he did was totally professional and the cost was a fraction of the cost you would pay in Canada. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs dental work We intend to go back to Mazatland next year and we will definitely use his services again.

They went beyond the call of dutyAllen, Fort McMurray, 04 03 20

The experience I had when I got my dentures done in Mazatlan was above and beyond what I expected! Very friendly staff! They went beyond the call of duty! I had gotten my plate done then after a few days we had to get them checked and made sure everything was good. The last visit they came to our hotel room as I had been sick! Couldn't have asked for better service then what I got! It was a great value for the hat I got done! In Canada, it would have cost 3x the price to get it done there!

Veneers are a very thin material that is bonded to a tooth surface, to give a more appealing look to the tooth. They are used to cosmetically correct a tooth, or in some cases, to fill a gap in your smile. They can make a discolored, stained tooth look very bright and white.

Dental Implants $3800 - $4200
Dental implants are titanium “screws” implanted (set) into the jaw bone in place of your teeth. They are the most permanent and trouble free solution to missing teeth. These dental implants are quite versatile, being used for replacing a single tooth, several missing teeth, or even all teeth on the upper or lower jawbone – know as arches in dentistry. When used for replacing a single tooth, these dental implants are seated directly into the bone, and depending on the patient and the system used, a crown will then be seated on the implant, immediately if possible - or the patient may have to wait up to 6 months before the crown can be permanently affixed.
