Having experienced 1960s UK dentistry where it was the norm to have a full gas mask stretched across my young cherub like face and much slapping of my head from a very scary dentist to wake me up from such innocuous gas it came as no surprise that I made a career out of avoiding such places once I had become an adult. But having run out of excuses as well as teeth I found myself entering a dentist for the first time in 35 years and I couldn't have found a more perfect place. From the pleasant &pre-covid smiles and reassurances of all the staff, I was made to feel quite welcome and comfortable. In hindsight, perhaps my bravity was probably no more than the courage required from the doctor to take his first look into my mouth and see the wreckage that had taken place over the course of the last 35 years.
