Graduated from the English School ,Nicosia in 1968. Entered the Medical School of the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 1969 and graduated in 1974 (MB,Ch.B). Prizes: At university received the Agnes Cameron Prize in Gynaecology (Final year) and the Clinical Surgery Prize – (Final Year). Certificates of Merit in: Surgery (twice), Pathology ,Bacteriology and Immunology, Pharmacology, and Ophthalmology In 1982 passed the Fellowship examination in Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (F.R.C.S.). Dr. Philios Philippou Specialist’s Training Certificate in Surgery, European Union Federal Licensing Examination (FLEX), State of Massachusetts, USA (1978) Specialist training in General Surgery in Britain and the United States from 1976 to 1982.
