A specialist in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Antoniak has focused on Cosmetic and Facial Surgery since 1987. He established the Facial Surgery & Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa in 1998 to provide the highest quality of service to his patients. Dr. Gregory P. Dr. Antoniak has active privileges at the Ottawa Hospital (a teaching hospital for the University of Ottawa) and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).

Dr. Bonaparte, originally from Nova Scotia, completed his undergraduate and graduate degree in Kinesiology and Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University. During this time he also worked as a full time musician and artist in Halifax. During his time in Halifax, he helped contribute to his community by volunteering as the President of the Nova Scotia Cerebral Palsy Sports Association, an organization responsible for sending athletes to the Paralympics games. Although he continued to remain passionate with music and art, in 2003 he decided to enter a career in medicine. After finishing his medical degree at Dalhousie University, he entered a five year residency training program in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Ottawa. During this time he was fortunate to be awarded the Poliquin Residents Research Award, given to the top resident researcher in Canada.

Dr. Bonaparte’s success in residency, as well as his talent in art, served him well as he was accepted in a prestigious fellowship at the University of Toronto. In 2012-2013 Dr Bonaparte completed this fellowship certified with the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. David Ellis. He had a very successful year in Toronto and was privileged to be awarded the prestigious Kris Conrad Merit Award in Facial Plastic Surgery, a prize given annually to exceptional young surgeons who have distinguished themselves by achieving the highest level of expertise in the performance of facial plastic surgery.

Dr. Bonaparte’s time away from Ottawa made him appreciate it all the more and he decided to return full time joining the staff at Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Center of Ottawa. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Bonaparte continues to conduct cutting edge research and perform teaching duties to surgical residents.

Although he has achieved much in the academic world, Dr. Bonaparte prides himself on honest and constructive communication with patients. His primary goal is to ensure that all patients are informed of all their options and ensure that all their questions and concerns are answered.

Dr. Javidnia’s goal in every interaction with her patients is a deep desire to understand and appreciate their aesthetic goals and what will make them happy. Happiness is a deeply personal phenomenon, affected strongly by an individual’s culture and the norms of their environment. Dr. Javidnia believes that the field of Facial Plastic Surgery holds at its roots the concept of happiness. Whether one has a cosmetic procedure, post-traumatic, or reconstructive, their happiness with their appearance and how it affects their everyday life is paramount to her practice. This is Dr. Javidnia’s reason for dedicating her life and career to practicing the art of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Educational Background

Dr. Javidnia began her post-graduate studies at Western University obtaining a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Human Physiology. She then went on to complete her Medical degree and Residency training in the field of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Ottawa. After the completion of her residency training, Dr. Javidnia sought to concentrate her surgical skills solely in Facial and Neck Surgery. She then moved to California and completed a prestigious and world-renowned fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California. Her desire to understand patient satisfaction and successful outcomes of surgery have led Dr. Javidnia to Harvard University where she is in her final months of completing a masters in public health, with her area of concentration in health outcomes research.

As a member of the Canadian and American Academies of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Javidnia has achieved the highest standards of her profession. With a career devoted to surgery of the Face and Neck, Dr. Javidnia brings exceptional skill, experience, and precision to every surgery she performs. As a female surgeon, her aesthetic ideal is exceptional and she brings a delicate and soft touch to all of her procedures.

Dr. Javidnia remains active within her professional societies and as a member of the Evidence Based Medicine committee of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery she remains abreast of the latest research and advances in the field. As an active researcher herself, Dr. Javidnia has published her work in many prestigious medical journals. As an expert in her field, Dr. Javidnia is among the teaching faculty at the University of Ottawa and teaches the art of Facial Plastic Surgery to medical trainees.

Bonnie has been a highly respected Certified Medical Aesthetician and Laser Technician since 1996. She is proud to have been a major part of the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa since 1998. Bonnie is an honours graduate of Versailles Academy in aesthetics; she is also an honours graduate in computer business and healthcare from ICAN Business College.

As aesthetics manager, Bonnie’s area of expertise is in coordinating and developing laser rejuvenation protocols for the face and body as well as introducing individualized skin health restoration programs. She oversees the marketing component of Dr. Antoniak’s practice, which she co-manages.

Bonnie attends annual international conferences to remain at the forefront in an industry that is constantly expanding with new technologies and products. Her love of learning and passion for her profession drive her to offer the best light-based technologies and advancements in treatment protocols for our patients, setting our clinic apart from the competition.

Because of her knowledge and experience, she was approached in 2010 by Elevate magazine for her opinions on lasers and the developing technologies for skin enhancement. This helped to bring national attention to the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa, for being a clinic which is committed to education and setting the highest standards for its patients.

“No two faces should ever be treated the same.” says Sheila. Sheila has over ten years experience with Dr. Antoniak as RN Manager and as a cosmetic injection specialist with injections and dermal fillers. She has been working in this aesthetic medical specialty since 1999.

She is an honours graduate from Carleton University and Dean’s List graduate from Algonquin College Nursing Program. Her focus and position is two-fold: to continuously grow and develop the “injectable” programs offered at the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa and co-manage this flourishing practice.

She believes continuous education is paramount in offering the best and most effective treatments available to our patients.

Sheila travels internationally to learn the latest injection techniques, combination therapies, and latest product development available to the Canadian consumer. Her annual attendance at Anti-Aging World Seminars and Management Programs has made her one of the leading RN injectors in this field.

She has been recognized in the industry for her talents and artistry, and has consulted as a cosmetic injection trainer with a national distributor of injectable fillers for over five years.

In Fall 2009, her expert opinion in an article on injectable fillers was published in Revive, a national anti-aging and wellness magazine. Her enthusiasm for her profession and passion for her work, have helped establish the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa as the premiere clinic for injectable treatments available today.

Christine has been in the customer service industry since 1999 and has 12 years of retail business management experience. She complements our team with her energy and enthusiasm and enjoys growing her knowledge in the cosmetic/aesthetic marketing industry by attending educational seminars and conferences as well as participating in team training sessions.

Allison has worked with the Centre since graduating from Mican College’s Medical Administration program in 1999. As the Centre’s surgical and patient care coordinator, Allison is well known for her great rapport with clients and her excellent customer service skills.

Stationed at the front of the office, despite her small stature, she has a big, bright personality. She will always greet you with a welcoming smile and assist you with anything you need.  In addition to working at the Centre, Nadia is also studying at the University of Ottawa, aspiring to obtain her degree in Social Sciences. Her out-going personality and willingness to learn new things comes as an asset to the office.

Sandie has been part of the Centre’s nursing team since 2005. After completing her nursing degree abroad, Sandie returned to Canada in 1988 and accepted a position on a medical/surgical unit at Hawkesbury General Hospital. In 1993, Sandie earned a post-graduate certificate specializing in operating room nursing. Sandie then accepted a position on the hospital’s OR team working in the day surgery and recovery room.

Relocating to Ottawa in 2001, but retaining her position at Hawkesbury, Sandie also worked for several oral surgeons in the Ottawa region. This led to a position as Head OR Nurse at Argyle Associates Surgicentre which specializes in plastic surgery, oral surgery, pediatric dental surgery and ENT and Facial Cosmetic Surgery.

Pat has been with the team since 2003. She graduated from Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1963 and followed her general nursing with state certification in midwifery, returning to a Theatre Sisters’ post at Glasgow Royal which she vacated to come to Canada in 1970. She spent 30 years at the Riverside Hospital working in the OR with Dr. Antoniak for many of these years before retiring and joining the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre.

She is a cherished team member known for calming effect, quality care in the OR and phenomenal bedside manner.

Nancy has a unique background which allows her to bring her extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to an aesthetics environment. She worked in the pharmaceutical industry for seven years and has been part of our team since 2006.

Nancy has received laser certifications from Palomar Medical, Syneron & Alma Lasers for IPL, Radio Frequency and Erbium Laser technologies. She has also received certification in PCA Facial Regeneration Chemical Peels. During her time at the Centre, Nancy has been personally trained by Medical Aesthetics Manager Bonnie and Dr. Antoniak and continues to participate in external training and seminars to upgrade her knowledge and skills.

Nancy is exceptional at performing VISIA complexion analysis and overseeing patients’ individual skin health restoration requirements. She works collaboratively with her patients to identify the appropriate skin care solutions to meet their needs.

“I believe in constantly updating my education to be on top of the latest advancements in this field, so that way, I can always suggest the most beneficial options for my patients” – says Jennifer.

Jennifer joined the Facial Surgery & Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa in 2008. She graduated with Honours from the Masters Aesthetics Program at The Ottawa Academy in 2000 and Toronto’s Complexions International Professional Television and Film Make-up Artistry Program in 2004.

Jennifer is an expert in laser skin rejuvenation as well as skin care analysis. She holds certificates for laser skin tightening, fractionated technologies, non-surgical liposuction and chemical facial peels.

Jennifer enjoys guiding her patients’ through the process from the beginning to maintenance while building genuine relationships and earning her patients’ trust.

In 2009, Canada welcomed Doreen from sunny, beautiful Colombia. Doreen is a graduate of Business from Pontificia University in Javeriana where she developed an extensive career in Business Management. After arriving in Canada she challenged herself by studying Medical Aesthetics as well as training as a Laser Technician, which brought to life an exciting new career and her main area of focus.

Doreen’s long interactive experience with customers, customer service, and Medical Aesthetics create the perfect combination of expertise to design a customized plan for each of her patients. Doreen takes each patient step by step through their individualized plan to achieve their main aesthetic goals, while maintaining a natural result. Contributing her knowledge and passion in this ever changing and evolving business of cosmetic surgery and medical aesthetics is both exciting and challenging, and Doreen is very proud to offer her skills at the Facial Surgery & Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa where new techniques and improving through education is rewarding and natural.
