Dr Edmund Ek
Biography:
MBBS (Hons), PGradDip (Surgical Anatomy), FRACS (Plastic Surgery) Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon Senior Lecturer, University of Melbourne graduated from Monash University Medical School with first class honours in 2003. During his medical degree he was the recipient of numerous academic prizes and achievement awards, and graduated as the top student of his graduating class. Having decided at an early stage to pursue a career in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Edmund completed his Basic Surgical Training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, where in 2005 he was awarded the Sir Gordon Gordon-Taylor Prize for obtaining the highest mark in Australasia in his surgical exams. Edmund began his Plastic Surgical training after one year of Advanced General Surgical Training, during which time he trained at all of Melbourne's major Plastic Surgery centres, including the Alfred, Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s Hospitals.
