The active ingredient is used for more than thirty years in medicine to treat contractions of facial muscles and “ticks". The muscles that create wrinkles loosen, as the contractions become less intense and wrinkles disappear.

The active ingredient is injected intramuscularly with the help of a very thin needle and the procedure is almost painless. In the injection sites you will see slight swelling that will disappears after a few minutes. The muscles need 3-4 days to calm down and to allow the overlying wrinkles to reside. The treatment is local and is applied only to the muscle that has been injected. Results are known to be at their best after the first week, and are maintained for 4-6 months.

At the end of the treatment there may be a mild irritation, which subsides in the next couple of hours. Rarely, the injections points may experience some bruising, which disappears in the coming days.
