What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are anti-aging products that are injected into the skin of patients to add volume. They are injected to make skin that is sagging or has become wrinkled because of age look smooth and plump. They are also called injectable facial fillers, injectable cosmetic fillers or soft tissue fillers.  They are made of hyaluronic acid taken from animals or from the fat of the patient. It takes five minutes to an hour to perform dermal filler procedures.

Dermal fillers last from six months to five years. They are not permanent and are absorbed by the skin over time.  

Is the administration of Dermal Fillers painful?

What after care is required after the administration of Dermal Fillers?

Patients should avoid smoking and drinking alcohol until any swelling has subsided. They should avoid touching their face for at least one day. They should avoid going in direct sunlight for at least two days. They should drink plenty of water after the treatment. They should not get any beauty treatments done on their face for at least a week. They should avoid strenuous exercises and lifting heavy objects for at least a month. They should avoid blood thinning medications for a few weeks.  Patients should perform facial exercises for a few hours after the procedure.

Wrinkles are an unpleasant, but integral part of the ageing process of human skin. One of the ways to  The hyaluronic acid is a natural substance which normally occurs in the body, but gradually decreases with age. As a result of that, the skin loses elasticity and hydration and starts to form wrinkles. The use of filler material from hyaluronic acid can make the skin regain greater elasticity, thus achieving a visible smoothing of wrinkles. At Esthé we offer preparations in several modifications, which, by their density and size of the gel particles, exactly match the target tissue area. The wrinkle smoothing procedure is performed using thin needles. During the application of the hyaluronic acid, you may feel slight burning, which can be prevented by applying anaesthetic cream or by injection. There are no more restrictions after the procedure and one can return to normal daily activities. Any traces of a needle injection in sensitive areas or rednesses will disappear within a week. Until then,  it is not advisable to expose the treated area  to high temperatures (sauna, tanning) or to  severe coldness. Over time, the substances in the skin are slowly degraded and their application therefore has to be repeated after a certain time. The duration of the effective period varies. It usually ranges  from 6 to 12 months, but the procedure can be repeated whenever needed.

At our clinic we use skin injection implants containing substances of natural origin based on hyaluronic acid to increase the lip volume and  improve the lip contours.  Hyaluronic acid is a  natural substance which naturally occurs in our bodies. It is located in the intercellular spaces of our skin, where it provides hydration and elasticity. However, with increasing age this substance decreases in our bodies. If your  lips have lost their fullness or you want  to model them to your liking, the hyaluronic acid can be injected into the intercellular spaces. The substance will fill the spaces in the dermis (skin layer), thereby increasing the volume of the lips and highlighting their contour. The lip enlargement by hyaluronic acid is very safe. It is performed by injections using a very thin needle and takes place under local anaesthesia in order to make the procedure less painful. The lips may be slightly swollen after the procedure. It is necessary to avoid intense sunlight and strong frost for a few days after the procedure. No more restrictions have to be observed after the procedure and one can return to normal daily activities.
