Cath is a Glasgow graduate who trained in the West of Scotland. She gained an MSc from the University of Glasgow in 2005 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007 Cath’s special interests include Bariatric Surgery. After training in laparoscopic gastric banding in Glasgow Cath obtained a sponsored Fellowship in Bariatric Surgery in the South East of England. Cath is a Consultant General Surgeon in Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock and is a Member of the Association of Upper GI Surgeons and a Member of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society. Cath performs Gastric Band and Gastric Sleeve surgery.

Simon was appointed as Consultant Upper GI and Laparoscopic surgeon at University Hospital Crosshouse in 2012 following a 6-month period as a locum UGI consultant at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. This followed a 1-year period as the Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery fellow at Concord Hospital in Sydney, Australia where he received extensive laparoscopic upper GI and bariatric training performing over 100 bariatric procedures (band, sleeve, bypass). He had previously undergone obesity surgery training in Glasgow.

Stephen is Consultant Physician with a specialist interest in Diabetes & Endocrinology based at the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow and he also has a strong involvement in treating patients with type 2 Diabetes associated with obesity. This is a key role within the team as in many cases patients wishing to access our service will have diabetes and the management of this condition during a period where significant weight loss may occur is essential. Stephen will see diabetic patients at the start of the program with Assure and will routinely monitor their progress throughout their treatment plan
