Ahmet Zülküf Erdem was born in 1950 in Elazığ. He completed his education life in Ankara and graduated from Ankara Atatürk High School. He started his medical education at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine in 1967. After completing his education at Hacettepe University, he went to Germany for specialization between 1975-1998. Between 1975-1979, he worked as a Specialist Doctor in Essen Klinikum, Germany. Between 1979 and 1983, he worked as an Operator Doctor at Hannover Medizinische Hochschule. He completed his residency at University of Gottingen in 1983. During this period, he performed rotations in Germany on anaesthesia, gynaecology, oncology and cytology. He received training and gained experience on subjects such as advanced birth tests, intrauterine scalp blood, gas determination, and intrauterine pressure measurement in Frauenklinik, one of the leading clinics in Berlin. During her psychology education, she tried to follow current issues closely and participated in congresses and seminars in many different fields. She spent an internship period as a Trainee Psychologist at Dr. Behçet Uz Pediatrics and Surgery Training and Research Hospital, Child Psychiatry Clinic, which had profound contributions to her professional background.
