Research has shown that acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce endorphins (which are natural pain relieving chemicals.) These assist the body to heal itself and gain pain relief. There is increasing scientific evidence to support the effects of acupuncture. Our therapists are trained to maintain the strictest hygiene levels and will only use pre-sterilised, disposable needles. Inserting the fine needles can give rise to a sensation which should only be a temporary mild discomfort at the most. Sometimes a more intense sensation is experienced, representing a positive indication of energy movement and is nothing to worry about. Acupuncture may help you overcome and manage a wide range of symptoms, including: Fertility problemsIVFBack and neck painsNerve painsSports injuriesRepetitive strain injuriesMuscle and ligament problemsJoint painsFrozen shouldersAnd much more!

Acupressure from £34
Acupressure is given instead of, or in addition to acupuncture. Acupressure is essentially acupuncture without needles. Different massage methods are used with strong stimulation to specific acupuncture points on the body. . Acupressure works like acupuncture to stimulate the flow of Qi (energy) and blood along the meridians to heal the body. It is very comfortable and relaxing, and is usually the patient’s favourite part of the treatment.
Acupuncturist Consultation
Free consultation Acupuncture is effective in treating most ailments presented at a GPs surgery. It is especially valuable in chronic diseases that orthodox medicine can only alleviate with drugs. For example, asthma, hay fever, sinusitis; hypertension; depression; painful conditions anywhere in the body such as headache, migraine, arthritis, back pain; stiffness of joints or muscles. Many acute complaints can be treated including strains and sprains, shingles, cystitis, menstrual disorders, diarrhoea and vomiting, cough, colds and sore throats.
Fertility Acupuncture
Acupuncture for infertility is probably the most popular and commonly recognized alternative treatment for those trying to get pregnant. The media seems to report on research related to acupuncture and fertility every few months, and more and more fertility clinics offer or recommend acupuncture services along with conventional fertility treatments like IVF and IUI. Acupuncture is the insertion of ultra-thin, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points on the body which reside on channels or meridians; these are pathways in both the exterior and interior of the body. These points, when needled, can regulate the way in which the body functions. Acupuncture helps by addressing problems that affect fertility such as under-functioning (hypothyroidism) or over-functioning (hyperthyroidism).
Massage from £24
Chinese medical massage(TuiNa) works with the energy system in the body (Chi), which flows through channels called meridians. By stimulating or subduing the energy in the body, practitioners help bring the patient’s body back into balance. To determine what meridians need work, TuiNa practitioners feel the patient’s wrist pulse. Because it is based on the same meridian points as acupuncture, TuiNa is often called acupuncture without needles.

Non-traditional acupuncture or medical dry needling reinterprets the traditional apparatus of "meridians" and "points" and is based on the modern understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. In many cases dry needling is used on "trigger points" in muscles, these are tender points within muscles which cause pain when pressed and radiate pain to other areas. Needling the trigger points can relieve pain in these distant areas.
Massage £40 - £65
The main purpose of sports massage is to help alleviate stress and tension which builds up in the body's soft tissues, this can be sports related or from simple day to day activities. When an injury occurs the body often reacts by tensing the soft tissues surrounding the area, massage can work quickly and effectively to reduce this. It can also be helpful in preventing 'niggling' injuries which can hamper performance. Sports massage tends to be a deeper more intense massage, combining a variety of techniques including stretching, friction and trigger point release. With sports massage it's especially important to have a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. By understanding these systems and the effects of exercise, we are able to develop a clearer picture of why the individual may be suffering in particular areas, which allows us to tailor our massage treatment.
Osteopath Consultation £40 - £65
To an osteopath, for your body to work well, its structure must also work well. So osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery. Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.
