The practice consists of a team of highly experienced practitioners and we offer a caring and professional service to all our patients. We aim to provide a friendly and relaxed environment ensuring patients feel at ease during their treatments.  The move to our new bright and spacious premises in December last year provided extra treatment space and facilities to offer back rehabilitation classes and Modern Pilates Courses in the Studio. The 4 Osteopaths currently working at the clinic were joined by a team of local health care practitioners allowing the clinic to provide additional therapies including Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Sports Massage and Hypnotherapy creating a large multidisciplinary practice. The advantages of creating a large multidisciplinary clinic is so practitioners can find the most appropriate solution to  patients problems via the disciplines on offer at the clinic or if needed through the trusted network of clinicians we work with in the surrounding area, this includes local GP’s, Orthopedic consultants and other like minded complimentary health care practitioners.

I have been having issues with my lower back for a few months and as it is hard to get into a doctor and then wait for physio, so I decided to have a sports massage. Beth got to the issue and told me what the issue is. As it is an ongoing issue I will need a few treatments. Willing to pay the price to hopefully treat the issue. Special mention to Beth, who puts you at ease and is great at what she does.

Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice that originated in China thousands of years ago. In western medicine, the goal is often to diagnose disease and treat it specifically; in acupuncture, the goal is to strengthen the entire mind and body, supporting our inherent resilience and resistance to disease. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body’s motivating energy (Qi, pronounced ‘chee’) moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels (meridians) beneath the skin that connect the interior and exterior of the body, and the internal systems to each other. Qi consists of equal and opposite qualities – Yin and Yang. When Qi becomes blocked or disrupted, illness can result. Acupuncture aims to bring all systems into balance by inserting fine needles into the meridians. It can also be used to complement conventional medicine. What can acupuncture treat? I found Nick Birch understood my problem from the start of the appointment, having had a conversation with me beforehand. He took note of the way I was moving and explained the causes, did a thorough bone density scan and gave me a run-down on the meanings of the various measurements on the diagrams. He told me that the way forward would be to have exercises and stretches and as I had been to Sarah on previous occasions to have further physio appointments with her. Later the same day he followed up with a letter to me confirming his analysis and recommended treatment and letting me know the letter would also go to other parties involved, including my GP. I was very heartened by my visit which has given me renewed determination to do my part in improving my condition.
